For about two years in the area of Ghimeș, in the commune of Lunca de Sus (Gyimesfelsőlok, in Hungarian; Harghita county), the SkyGyimes recreational area operates, which in parallel with two ski slopes also has a track known as a summer bobsleed, but for which we prefer to use the name alpine coaster because it can work in winter too. The ”alpine coaster” is a variant of Roller Coaster (Mountain Rousse) in which the sleds gravitationally slide on steel cylindrical rails and, very important, the speed can be very easily controlled with the brake operated by a lever. The alpine coaster track from Lunca de Sus is 1,300 m long, 160 m level difference, two loops and a tunnel. It is installed on the Trotus Valley in a natural, enchanting environment, the area being mainly inhabited by Csango ethnic groups. The video shows only the descent, at the speed obtained after a few training runs.

Umanitara Off Road Adventure Romania - Paste 2016
