Alpine Coaster - Oberammergau 2016
My 4th time on the coaster, I managed to get a clear run, with no one ahead of me to slow me down. This is my run without brakes. I'm not sure the video does the speed justice. Also, some bits of the track slow the coaster for you, at no point did I brake. If you are heading to the German Alps, I highly recommend a trip to the Alpine Coaster!

Located in south Germany in Bavaria near the town Oberammergau is kolbensattel alpine coaster. It runs for over 4km down a mountain and you control your own speed with hand brakes on your individual cart. It cost €10 two years ago. It was super fun and you can find in several places in the alps.

Alpine coaster Oberammergau
Längster Alpinecoaster seiner Art weltweit....Das Besondere:

Oberammergau, Germany - a visit via the German Alpine Road (Deutsche Alpenstrasse)
After touring the wonderful Romantic Road (Romantische Strasse), we left Füssen, Germany and began our German Alpine Road (Deutsche Alpenstrasse) drive that would take us all the way through Bavaria to the end at the Austrian border. One of our major stops was the historic town of Oberammergau, known for doing the famous Passion Play every ten years, where the whole town gets involved in presenting the play.
Because we were on a strict time schedule, we were only able to stop for about 4 hours there, but we saw so much during that time, as you'll see here. Absolutely charming town with the well-known murals adorning most buildings you see there.
As always, Ed does most of the narration that you hear, as well as most of the video camera work; I do the majority of the still photos and then edit and put the final product together to upload to You Tube.
Oberammergau
Germany & Austria 2017 - Video 5 of 17
Wednesday, June 14, 2017. Today we drive to our second campsite in Oberammergau, with a stop along the way to see the Pilgrimage Church of Wies. The church dates back to the 1740s. Lothar said we can’t see Bavaria without seeing this Church with all of its ornate decorations and paintings on the ceiling. We then drove to a campsite on the edge of the town of Oberammergau, which is famous for its Passion Play performed by the residents of the town once every ten years. Oberammergau is also famous for the many frescoes painted on the facades of the buildings. The frescoes contain traditional Bavarian themes, such as fairy tales and religious scenery.
