The First Shift - 30 June 2018. Christchurch, New Zealand

The Canterbury Minors Ice Hockey Association ran a FREE Introduction to Ice Hockey programme for kids aged 3-11.
Fitted with brand new gear, 20-25 kids hit the ice on this give it a go day and had an absolute blast.
Of the group that attended this event, we now have a handful already signing up to term 3 of our regular hockey programme bringing our total to about 80 under 11's! Fantastic!
This is our first time running this particular introductory event and we can not wait to run another.
Thanks again to Centre Ice for supplying a majority of the gear, NZIHF, IIHF and Alpine Ice Sports Centre for their continued support.
Special thanks again to members of CMIH and the coaches for giving up their time to assist both on-ice and off. Couldnt have done it without you.

Here is a small compile of video we have taken so far this 2010 winter skating season in the South Island of New Zealand. These clips will eventually make their way into a film called Forgotton Ice currently in production. The film will be is a historical film about current and vanished Ice Skating venues and natural lakes, rinks and ponds.

Due to the devastating September and February Christchurch
earthquakes the production of this video has run into this year (2011) expected time of completion is Feb 2012. We are currently filming more material.

Alpine Springs Rink, ICE HOCKEY 2, NZ

A few of the local guys having a friendly game.

This is held at Alpine Springs, in Lake Tekapo, New Zealand. The rink is International standard size and used regularly for Ice Hockey matches, Curling and Figure Skating Training.

As well as Ice Sports, the rink is available for public skating.

After being on the Ice, there are 3 luxurious Hot Pools to soak in, a Sauna/Steam room, a Day Spa for massage, a cafe onsite, and a fun Snow Tubing park!

Alpine Springs is a fantastic reason to check out one of the most stunning areas in New Zealand ~ See you soon:)
