HO Gauge Trains at the Munich Model Railway Museum
For more than 30 years, the Munich Model Railway Museum has been one of the largest miniature and model railway exhibitions in Germany. Originally, the HO gauge layout was designed in 1978, and opened in 1980. At first, the layout was growing up to almost 400 square meters. More and more attractions were added to the model railroad system, such as a fairground or the simulation of aircrafts at the miniature airport. In 2008, the entire model railway layout and its electronics were renewed: The model railway control was converted from analogue to digital operation by DCC format. On the whole, the rolling stock consists of locomotives, coaches, and trains of all eras in order to offer a great variety of railway traffic and railway history to visitors. There are old German steam locomotives as well as modern high speed trains, such as Intercity, Railjet and Intercity Express. More information and a lot of photos are available at for free.
MITTENWALD, GERMANY: Bavaria's most idyllic small Alpine town
Mittenwald is a cute little town in Bavaria, Germany in the municipality of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. It is situated in the Valley of the River Isar. The town is most famous for the manufacture of violins, violas and cellos which began in the mid-17th century by the Klotz family of violin makers and has been a popular tourist destination since the 1930s.

Join us on our Roadtrip to Munich to visit the BMW Museum and the BMW World. See a lot of rare BMW, brandnew BMWs, Rolls Royce and Minis as well as a lot of concept cars... it will be great!
BMW has build the BMW World as the main brand showroom - open for all and presented the core of the brand message of BMW, Mini and Rolls Royce. Ther are a lot of other stores, the architechture is really cool. The BMW Museum is as well as the BMW World a really great place for car guys: all the motorsport cars, the M cars and all the really rare ones are there. The Z8 from the James Bond movie stands in the middle of one room and such a lot of concept cars everywhere... just great!
So yes, BMWs are the ultimate driving machines.

Germany, Pt 4: Munich & Mittenwald
For our first night in Munich, we happen to be there on the one night of the year where Munich has a museum festival with all museums open until 2am, playing music and serving food. We don't have much footage from that, but it was a lot of fun! After exploring some fancy palaces in Munich, we head to the tiny town of Mittenwald for a charming quick stop on our way to Austria!

Munich-the heart of Bavaria, the capital of the Federal state of the same name in Germany, lies in the foothills of the Alps. The Munich to Zagreb Night Train
Part 1 of our journey between Germany and Italy by train.
A trip from Munich to Zagreb on the night train. We used the excellent information on the Man at Seat Sixty One website when we planned the trip. The tickets cost £58.50 GBP (€68.92) and the journey took about nine and a half hours. We bought the tickets online using bahn.de.
The train travels through Austria and Slovenia before crossing the border to Croatia. During the night the train is split up and some portions travel to Budapest so you better not go wandering about!
The engine that pulled us out of Munich was a different engine attached when we reached Zagreb. We slept obliviously through any decoupling although I do remember some heavy braking waking me up twice.
We slept in a six berth cabin. My partner and I shared with two other people. We didn't get chance to know them because the train departs at 23:35 and arrives at 8:30am which leaves little time to socialise.
In the morning a conductor woke us up with a cup of ropey coffee. I had heard reports that a croissant is also offered but we didn't see any. We were woken about 40 minutes before we reached the Slovenia/Croatia border at which point the local police/border control got on to the train to check our passports.
Zagreb is an agreeable city but there's not much there. I recommend the Museum of Broken Relationships. before leaving Munich, I recommend spending an afternoon and evening in the brilliant Augustiner Keller which is close to Munich Train Station, good beer and good food should help you sleep in that cramped cabin!
After a couple of nights in Zagreb we caught a day train to Split. Look out for the next video.

Allianz Arena is a football stadium in Munich, Bavaria, Germany with a 75,000 seating capacity. Widely known for its exterior of inflated ETFE plastic panels, it is the first stadium in the world with a full colour changing exterior. Located at 25 Werner-Heisenberg-Allee at the northern edge of Munich's Schwabing-Freimann borough on the Fröttmaning Heath, it is the second-largest arena in Germany behind Westfalenstadion in Dortmund.
FC Bayern Munich has played its home games at the Allianz Arena since the start of the 2005–06 season. The club had previously played their home games at the Munich Olympic Stadium since 1972. 1860 Munich previously had a 50% share in the stadium, but Bayern Munich purchased their shares for €11 million in April 2006. The arrangement allowed 1860 Munich to play at the stadium while retaining no ownership until 2025. However, in July 2017 the rental contract was terminated, making Bayern Munich the sole tenants of the stadium.
The large financial services provider Allianz purchased the naming rights to the stadium for 30 years. However, this name cannot be used when hosting FIFA and UEFAevents, since these governing bodies have policies forbidding corporate sponsorship from companies that are not official tournament partners. During the 2006 FIFA World Cup, the stadium was referred to as FIFA WM-Stadion München (FIFA World Cup Stadium, Munich). In UEFA club and Nations League matches, it is known asFußball Arena München (Football Arena Munich), and it hosted the 2012 UEFA Champions League Final. The stadium has been nicknamed Schlauchboot (dinghy). Since 2012 the museum of Bayern Munich, FC Bayern Erlebniswelt, has been located inside the Allianz Arena.
History:
On 21 October 2002, voters went to the polls to determine whether a new stadium should be built in this location and whether the city of Munich should provide the necessary infrastructure. About two thirds of the voters decided in favor of the proposition. An alternative to constructing the new arena had been a major reconstruction of the Olympic Stadiumbut this option had been refused by its architect Günther Behnisch.
The Swiss architect firm of Herzog & de Meuron then developed the concept of the stadium with a see-through exterior made of ETFE-foil panels, that can be lit from the inside and are self-cleaning. Construction started in the autumn of 2002 and was completed by the end of April 2005.
Cost:
The cost of the construction itself ran to €286 million but financing costs raised that figure to a total of €340 million. In addition, the city and State incurred approximately €210 million for area development and infrastructure improvements.
