平等院をしばらく過ぎると、大きなアーチが現れました。天ヶ瀬ダムは見学も自由で、近くから迫力満点の放水を楽しむことができました。どのダムにも共通することですが、自然の中に現れる人工物は三半規管を狂わすほどのミスマッチ感がありその点がたまらなく魅力的かと思います。

Amagase Dam was built as the very first dam on one of the biggest rivers in west Japan, Yamatogawa river and Yodogawa river. It was first built in 1964 for adjustments of floods, supplying tap water, and producing electricity. With its dome and arch with the height (73m) and the width (254m), it is often referred to as “Hououko” for it looks like a bird opening its wings. A building made out of bricks located on the lower reaches matches the surrounding sight.

Journey in Japan - Episode 35
10th of october to the 11th of october, 2016.
10th of october: I travelled to Uji just a bit outside Kyoto. There I saw the famous Byodoin Temple, climbed a mountain and walked to The Amagase Dam. Back at Kyoto Station I also saw a bit of a concert but came just when they ended.
11th of october: I visited Shoseien Garden and Higashi Honganji Temple in Kyoto for the first time. After that I revisited Nijou Castle. I ended the day by visiting and saying goodbye to Shinsenen Garden that I had visited exactly one year ago that day. It was really nostalgic.
２０１６年、十月の十日から十一日まで。
十月十日に宇治へ行きました。そこで平等院へ行って、ある山に登って天ヶ瀬ダムへ行きました。京都駅へ帰ってきてからあるコンサートが聞こえました。しかし、コンサートを見に行くところにコンサートが終わりだしました。
十月十一日に初めて渉成園と東本願寺へ行きました。それから二回目に二条城へ行って、アパートへ帰る前最後に神泉苑へ行きました。その日はちょうど一年前同じ所へ行ったので特別な感じでした。本当に懐かしかったです。
