Until BC 1200 year, Gasgas tribe inhabited in the environ of Bartın. In the following years, the region had entered under the dominance of Hittites, Frigs, Kringens, Kokons , Enets, Kimmers, Lydians, Persians and Macedonians.
The historic progress of Bartın continues with the dominance of Roman Empire and Byzantine Empire and later with the dominance of Turkish states of Seljuks and Candaroğulları in between 11th - 13th centuries. Bartın was conquered by Yıldırım Bayazıt in 1392 and had become a state of Ottoman lands.
There are numerous ancient city ruins inside the borders of historic Paphlagonia region. Ancient cities of Sesamos (Amasra), Kromna (Kurucaşile) and Erythinoi (Çakraz) are located inside the borders of Bartın.
The castle, two churches, bedesten, Kuşkayası Road Monument (Unique in the world) and inziva (seclusion) cave inside the city center are among the visual parts of the ancient city. The sections of the ancient city like forum, council palace, road of honor, theatre, acropolis, necropolis are below ground.

Around February 2019 I decided to try my luck and apply for an internship in Ankara, Turkey. It was definitely going to be getting out of my comfort zone. I got the internship, and in July I was already in Turkey. I would have never know how good of a people I would meet, and places I would see. This short 1 day trip was completely unplanned and because of it, it turned out awesome. Me and Guilerme went in the morning to Ankara Esenboga Airport and rented a car. We had to go to the airport, since it was Sunday, and none of the shops for renting were open in the center of the city. We picked up our friends and went north. It was a 4 hour drive to a city on the coast of Black Sea called Amasra. We went to Canli Balik restaurant. The fish was great. The sea was pretty dirty so we didn't sunbath. After visiting the castle there, we left Amasra and went to Safranbolu, a small town south of Amasra. There we went to see the Crystal Terrace which had an awesome view to it. Went back to Ankara in the late hours and our trip ended there. Awesome day!

We got pulled over by cops on our way to Amasra. The officer started screaming his head off but we were unable to understand what he was saying. Besides the mishap on the rode, Istanbul will never stop amusing us.

Kristal Cam Teras (Türkiyede İlk) SAFRANBOLU / KARABÜK
Biri hindistanlı diğer romanyalı 2 Üniversite hocamız ve kankam hakanla birlikte son model bir araç kiralayarak kristal cam terasa gittik. hocalarımızı öncelikle amasra götürdük balık v.s yedik bir gece amasrada kaldıktan sonra sabah erkenden yola koyulduk. işte kristal cam teras. hocalarımızla gelmemizdeki amaç ingilizce pratik yapmaktı. çünkü hocalarımız gerçekten türkçe bilmiyorlardı bu pratik için güzel bir seçenekti. romanyalıyı anlamak zor olmuyordu lakin hindistanlıyı anlamak gerçekten zordu :)
