Amazon Rainforest - Iquitos Peru
This video contains views of the Amazon rainforest during the wet season. Rivers flood the forest far inland making it possible to navigate deep in the forest by canoe and small boats. The video contains images and clips of the Bora indian tribe as well as of animals that live in the area. All my pictures as well as clips were possible during my 4 day stay at the Amazon Rainforest Lodge during some of the excursions provided by the lodge. The main purpose of this video is to create awareness among people and help protect the world's natural resources.

Iquitos, Peru is the largest city in the world that in inaccessible by road. You can only reach this city by plane or boat.
Iquitos is located in the Northeast of Peru, and is surrounded by the Amazon jungle on the banks of the Amazon river . A few minutes travel outside of the city, and you will find yourself far away from the man made world.
There are many adventures to be had in Iquitos. Boat trips, exotic cuisine, animal viewing and even piranha fishing. I just captured a few of the many amazing things you can do there.
The city is cheap for most tourists and relativly safe. It is always a large city with a good amount of hotels and a decent nightlife.

VR 360: Tour the Amazon Jungle with Amazon Wildlife Peru - Cusco
Enjoy a VR 360 walk through the low, Amazon Jungle with Amazon Wildlife Peru, based in Cusco. Our guide, Saulo, helped us find some fantastic wildlife. However, we did NOT shoot 360 VR video when looking at wildlife. Most of this video is walking through the jungle with occasional pauses to look at enormous ficus trees up close, vines, ants crawling up trees, ant nests, dense foliage, etc. You'll also hear some bird and monkey calls. Toward the end there are some bats outside a tree cave, up close, within 3 feet of the camera.
Some of the jungle camp, Bonanza, and river boat trip is also included.
Enjoy!
*All footage was shot with a Samsung Gear 360 2017 camera.
Iquitos Amazon Tour - Discover the Peruvian Rainforest!
With this Iquitos Amazon tour, you will dive into a world that seems untouched, wild and has a lot of incredible nature to present you. Imagine speeding on the Amazon river with the blue sky above- and nothing but green jungle landscape around you. All the hectic from the busy city life will be forgotten within seconds. But don’t worry, during this tour you won’t sleep in tents being exposed to the wild jungle. You’ll sleep in a comfortable lodge located in the middle of the jungle, so get ready for some adventure...and get ready to get to know the lodge’s beautiful parrot!
During the Iquitos Amazon tour you will visit the monkey island, where you will see endangered species of monkeys that live freely on this island. In fact, you will most likely see a lot of animals that you have never seen before, such as pink dolphins, caimans, different bird species or paiches, an enormous fish that weighs up to 100 kg. You will even go piranha hunting; let’s see whether you manage to catch one of these little creatures! And have you ever heard of the Victoria Regia (Victoria Amazónica)? It’s the biggest water flower in the Amazon and can grow up to 40 cm in diameter, an incredible flower.
Another highlight is the jungle walk at night where you will become witness to an orchestra made up of different animal sounds, a truly unique experience. This is the perfect opportunity to spot timid snakes, frogs and certain animals that only move at night. Get ready for a flora and fauna that is totally different from what you are used to from the day.
You will even get to know an original local community and learn about their history and their lifestyle. They will welcome you with open arms, dance with you, laugh with you and teach you more about their customs. This is a very special experience as their life is very different from ours. You will also be able to taste various exotic regional beverages made out of sugar cane.
So what are you waiting for? Enjoy this Amazon rainforest tour in Iquitos, fall in love with the jungle’s fauna and flora and fall asleep with the jungle’s sounds in your head. This sounds like an adventure that Indiana Jones wouldn’t say “no” to. Would you?

The Amazon River in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest - Iquitos Peru
The Amazon River in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest
The Amazon River dominates South Americafrom its source in the Peruvian Andes to its mouth on the east coast of Brazil. The first European to find it was Francisco de Orellana in 1542.
The Amazon is the longest and broadest river in the world, and covers the largest land area.
Its 6756 kilometers or 4,197 miles long, more than 40 kilometers longer than the Nile.
For most of its length the river is sinuous, creating a web of channels and thousands of islands.
On average the Amazon is 50 meters deep and between 4 and 6 kilometers wide.
River boat tours leave from Iquitos to the eastern edge of the Amazon in Brazil, a journey that takes weeks, but shorter trips can take visitors to jungle lodges for a glimpse of the rivers abundant wildlife..

Amazon Rainforest Experience | Peru Vlogs
Swimming with piranhas. Night hiking with tarantulas. Playing with sloths. Listening to birds at sunrise. The Amazon is an incredible and unforgettable experience. I hope you can go in person some day, but until then, I hope you enjoy this video.
**What's going on?**
I'm on a business trip with some friends from school. We're visiting a lot of companies and learning about business in Peru and all of Latin America. Between business visits, we're exploring and eating all the food. :)

In this video, we spend three days exploring the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. We left Iquitos via the port Bellavista Nanay, where you can buy fruit and snacks for the boat ride to your camp. You can also eat larvae here.
We stayed at a no frills eco lodge. Generators came on during lunch and dinner so they can cook food. We could charge our batteries during those times, which was fortunate.
Our guide stayed with us for the entirety of our trip and really made the experience great. His name is Andres and we highly recommend him. He gave us tips, insights, and interesting facts about the trees, animals, and people around us. Check him out on facebook here:
We did everything I could think of for an Amazon adventure. All the timestamps are below for each of the experiences:
0:16 - Bellavista Nanay, eating larvae
0:48 - Cruising the Amazon River
0:58 - Local village - playing with parrots, sloths, snakes, anteaters, alligators, and more
3:11 - Daytime hike through Amazon rainforest, eating medicinal plants, trying not to get eaten by giant ants
5:10 - A STICK BUG!! It's only for a few seconds, but I was pretty dang excited about it
5:29 - Swimming with piranhas
6:18 - Night cruise to catch alligators
7:05 - Eerie and foggy morning cruise
8:08 - Indigenous village visit - war paint, dancing, blow darts, and A BABY SLOTH
10:29 - Amazon eco-lodge room tour
11:15 - Monkey Island
13:14 - Swimming and mud baths in the Amazon River
13:54 - Fishing for piranhas
14:32 - Night hike with tarantulas, scorpion spiders, wolf spiders, snakes, and other super creepy things.
16:34 - Sunrise canoe (paddling) to hear birds chirping
Thanks for watching!
