Matheran माथेरान is a hill station and a municipal council in the Raigad district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is a hill station in Karjat Tahsil and is also the smallest hill station in India. It is located on the Western Ghats range at an elevation of around 800 m (2,625 feet) above sea level. It is located around 90 km from Mumbai, and 120 km from Pune. Matheran's proximity to many metropolitan cities makes it a popular weekend getaway for urban residents. Matheran, which means forest on the forehead (of the mountains) is an eco-sensitive region, declared by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India. It is Asia's only automobile-free hill station.
There are around 38 designated look-out points in Matheran, including the Panorama Point that provides a 360 degree view of the surrounding area and also the Neral town. From this point, the view of sunset and sunrise is dramatic. The Louisa Point offers crystal clear view of the Prabal Fort. The other points are the One Tree Hill Point, Heart Point, Monkey Point, Porcupine Point, Rambagh Point, and more. To stay there, there are plenty of hotels. There are a lot of Parsi bungalows. Beautiful old British-style architecture is preserved in Matheran. The roads are not metalled and are made of red laterite earth. There are many points (viewpoints) in Matheran which give a panoramic view of the plains below.
Matheran is well connected to Mumbai (100 km) & Pune (120 km) by rail and road, while Neral is the nearest rail station.

66 million years old hill in Mumbai - Gilbert Hill - Heritage Structure
Gilbert Hill
66 Million Year Old Single Rock in Mumbai
200 ft (61 m) or Approx 22 Storey high
Formed from Molten Lava in Pre Historic Era
Declared National Park & Heritage Structure
Now greatly neglected and in poor condition
Gilbert Hill is a 200 ft (61 m) monolith column of black basalt rock at Andheri, in Mumbai, India. The rock has a sheer vertical face and was formed when molten lava was squeezed out of the Earth's clefts during the Mesozoic Era about 66 million years ago. During that era, molten lava had spread around most of the Indian states of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, covering an area of 50,000 square kilometres (19,000 sq mi). The volcanic eruptions were also responsible for the destruction of plant and animal life during that era.
Gilbert Hill, a monolith column of Black Basalt
According to experts, this rare geological phenomenon was the remnants of a ridge and had clusters of vertical columns in nearby Jogeshwari which were quarried off two decades ago. These vertical columns are similar to the Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming, and the Devils Postpile National Monument in eastern California, USA.
Gilbert Hill was declared a National Park in 1952 by the Central Government under the Forest Act. In 2007, after years of lobbying by geologists, the hill was declared a Grade II heritage structure by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), and all quarrying and other activities around the monument were prohibited. Over the period of time, Gilbert Hill has faced severe erosion problems too.
Atop the rock column, two Hindu temples, the Gaodevi and Durgamata temples, set in a small garden, are accessed by a steep staircase carved into the rock. The hill offers a panoramic view of suburban Mumbai.
Efforts are being made to convert Gilbert Hill into a tourist attraction and include it as stop on tour of Mumbai by Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation.

1000 Years Old Shiv Temple | श्री महादेव प्राचीन मंदिर | Titwala Mandir | Boating | Timelapse |
Hey Guys
In this vlog i had visited Titwala Mahaganpati Mandir for a reason that reason you will get to see in some other spl vlog. Titwala is just 60 km from Mumbai and it takes approx 2 hrs to reach. After darshan we had done boating near the temple. It is just 20rs per person one round but it is worth. Must do when ever to go at Titwala.
After Titwala we went to the beautiful ancient shiv mandir which is situated in Ambernath. From Titwala it is around 18 to 20 km by road and takes max 45 mins to reach the temple. Just put on GPS you will reach perfectly.
The Shiv Mandir of Ambarnath is a historic 11th-century Hindu temple, still in use, at Ambarnath near Mumbai, in Maharashtra, India. It is also known as the Ambreshwar Shiva Temple, and known locally as Puratana Shivalaya. It is situated on the bank of Vadavan (Waldhuni) river, 2 km away from Ambarnath (East) railway station. The temple was built in 1060 AD[1] beautifully carved in stone. It was probably built by Shilahara king Chhittaraja, it may also have been rebuilt by his son Mummuni.
It is also believed by some people that the temple was built by the five Pandava brothers in just one night in a huge single mass of stone. However, official records are not supportive to this.
Beautiful Timelapse you will get to see in this video.
Pls do watch the video till the end.

#ShotinMotoXStylePureEdition #Maharashtratourism #Beautifultemples #sidshinde15
Kondeshwar is one of the famous tourist attractions in Badlapur in Thane district. Rainy season is the most recommended to visit this place as the lush green hills and valley is a scene to witness.
The famous Kondeshwar temple and waterfall is a very cool place to visit but PLEASE be careful of the waterfall as the waterfall has been barricaded and it is not recommended to swim. Due to high force of water the pond is deep and has turbulence (bhavra) in it which has led to many accidents
