took a cruise with several friends to the Caribbean in June of 2018. One of the stops was Amber Cove, which is owned by Carnival. We zip lined and jumped from 7 of the 20 waterfall at Damajagua

Amber Cove Cruise Port Guide: Tips and Overview

The Amber Cove Cruise Center is situated on the Dominican Republic’s Amber Coast, not far from the filming locations used for the 1993 film Jurassic Park. There is an impressive range of excursion activities to choose from at Amber Cove. However, there is also plenty to do in the Cruise Center itself, including shopping, restaurants, a zip line, and complimentary pools and waterslides.

The cruise port, which caters to Carnival Corporation cruise lines like Carnival, Princess, Holland America, and P&O, has a pier that can accommodate two ships at the same time. No tender is required.

27 Waterfalls Damajagua (Is it worth it?)... Puerto Plata (Amber Cove) Dominican Republic

We arrived on a #Carnival Cruise looking for something to do and we settled on #Damajagua Waterfalls. It was a 30-minute hike to start the adventure but it was well worth the walk. The guides were great and did a good job keeping our energy up.

We really enjoyed this excursion and would recommend it if you are in port or staying in the Amber Cove area.

Puerto Plata Monkey Jungle and Zip Line Adventure

A great excursion to do if in Puerto Plata. Feed Squirrel Monkeys as they climb all over you, while learning about them. Then do 7 zip lines followed by a 54 foot free fall.

Need ideas for what to do in Amber Cove? Save some money...You'll probably do just fine without an excursion here! Take a quick tour of Amber Cove's port area with us. We speed shop for a few souvenirs, learn about the water park and zipline in the resort area, and then ride in style back to the boat. Unfortunately we only had 30 minutes after our excursion otherwise we'd have some awesome water park and zipline footage for you...next time!

Welcome to Amber Cove, Dominican Republic! We are docked here today on the beautiful Carnival Breeze! This morning I'll show you how easy it is to find your tour location on the morning of your excursion!

We enjoy our Port Day Express breakfast in the Main Dining Room before heading off the ship. The group takes along the school supplies that we had brought for the school kids to give out during the excursion.

After visiting the school, we head over to a coffee and chocolate plantation to sample some local treats! This included local fruit picked from the trees, freshly brewed coffee and chocolate as well!

Lastly, we indulged in an all you can eat local buffet lunch that consisted of chicken, rice, salad, fruits and tons of other goodies!
