Kilimanjaro Elephants - Amazing Wildlife Safari in Amboseli National Park Kenya 2018 (4K)
Running elephants, fighting hippos, cheetahs, bat-eared fox and plentiful water birds including greater and lesser flamingos and pelicans. We encountered a hippo mother fighting a big male over the life of her baby. This was really dramatic and heartbreaking to watch.
Welcome to our wildlife safari in Kenya to the Amboseli national park beneath mount Kilimanjaro in December 2018. We stayed four nights in Tortilis camp operated by Elewana Collection.

Elephants in the Amboseli National Park Kenya - Mount Kilimanjaro Kenya Africa travel vlog
Crowned by Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, the Amboseli National Parks is one of Kenya's most popular parks. The name Amboseli comes from a Maasai word meaning salty dust, and it is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. Nature lovers can explore five different habitats here ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulphur springs, the savannah and woodlands. They can also visit the local Maasai community who live around the park and experience their authentic culture.
Kenya Safari 2019 - Amboseli National Park
On the first weekend of January 2019, my friends and i decided to take a trip to Amboseli, it was a fun trip. The place has a lot to offer and see but like all moments definitely couldn't be captured as most sights and memories were captured in the moment, living in the moment. However, what was captured in this short safari clip was recorded by the GoPro Hero 7 black, Nikon DSLR D90 Camera & our mobile phones :P
Unfortunately most content (wildlife based) acquired got lost, so had to work with what i got, but nonetheless hope you enjoy, like and share the clip. And may you join us next time! :D

Discover The Giants of Amboseli
5 Amboseli safari tours,Jeep / flight options
The giants here are the great herds of elephants. Hundreds of them.
Protected from poachers, they carry their massive tusks with pride as they gather at predictable watering holes, delighting the many who come to Amboseli National Park to view these noble creatures.
Amboseli is known as the best place in Africa for getting up close to free-ranging elephants. The population is so robust here that sightings are guaranteed!
It’s just one of many reasons the park is the second most popular in Kenya – only the Masai Mara draws more visitors.
Amboseli is also a photographer’s paradise. Those wonderful photos you’ve seen of elephants seemingly posing in front of snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro? They were taken here.
Kilimanjaro, the largest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world, towers over the park like a stately and photogenic sentinel. And when the clouds burn off at dusk or dawn, you’ll be treated to visions of its snowy peak.
But it would be foolish to think elephants are the only wildlife attraction in the park. On your game drives on Amboseli’s great horizons you can spot wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, gazelle and of course, cheetahs and lions.
And not to be overlooked – smaller mammals like hyena, foxes, jackals, vervet monkey and the yellow baboon abound.
The bird life is equally rich especially in the park’s marshes and lakes. Be ready for sightings of pelicans, kingfishers, crakes, egrets and the Madagascar heron. And raptors – 47 types have been spotted including falcon and the harrier eagle.
The sky and horizon are vast here encompassing Amboseli’s 5 wildlife environments which ensure great numbers and diversity: wetlands, savannah, woodlands, thorn-bush and the dry lakebed of Lake Amboseli.
Even the word “Amboseli” comes from a Maasai word meaning “salty dust”.
And you’ll find the Maasai people in their villages spread around the park. You can visit with them and experience a truly authentic and ancient African culture.
On the drive in / road safaris , transportation to the park and game viewing will be in private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep – this vehicle is the safari standard with its higher seating and rugged all-wheel drive. Always included on our tours, the Land Cruiser Jeep is just another example of the value we offer you at Natural World Kenya Safaris.

Travelling in Kenya | Amboseli National Park Safari
Amboseli National Park at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro is home to hundreds of elephants which were a joy to watch in their natural habitat. Hard to believe any one, including President Donald Trump could endorse their killing by lifting a ban on elephant trophies.
After a full day in Amboseli, our safari ended with a visit to a Maasai Village where we were shown the customs, traditions, and homes of the Maasai people. We were greeted with a traditional dance and sent off with a prayer form the village.

The wildlife in the Amboseli National Park (Kenya)
(EN) Amboseli National Park, formerly Maasai Amboseli Game Reserve, is in Kajiado District, Rift Valley Province in Kenya. The park is 39,206 hectares (392 km2; 151 sq mi) in size at the core of an 8,000 square kilometres (3,100 sq mi) ecosystem that spreads across the Kenya-Tanzania border. The local people are mainly Maasai, but people from other parts of the country have settled there attracted by the successful tourist-driven economy and intensive agriculture along the system of swamps that makes this low-rainfall area (average 350 mm (14 in)) one of the best wildlife-viewing experiences in the world with 400 species of birds including water birds, pelicans, kingfishers, crakes, hammerkops and 47 types of raptor.[2]
The park protects two of the five main swamps, and includes a dried-up Pleistocene lake and semi-arid vegetation.
140 kilometres (87 mi) South of the capital city Nairobi, Amboseli National Park is the second most popular national park in Kenya after Maasai Mara National Reserve and the visit can easily be done in a weekend.
