Ambury regional park, Auckland
Ambury regional park, Auckland
It was early spring we visited Ambury Regional Park again, and wanted to see new born farm animals.
The following information is a copy from the website
Nestled on the shore of the Manukau Harbour, Ambury Regional Park is a working farm, an important education centre and a birdwatchers paradise with a volcanic history - all just 15km from central Auckland.
The park sits on ash-covered lava flows from Mangere Mountain and has views across the harbour to the Manukau Heads and Waitakere Ranges. It takes its name from the Ambury Milk Company, which milked cows and ran a town milk supply farm here from 1893-1965. Free to wander through the park but please leave gates as you find them.
The farm animals at Ambury are family favourites. You will see sheep, goats, cows, pigs, pet lambs (in spring), a horse, chickens, turkeys, rabbits and peacocks. Grassy lanes between the animal enclosures help you get up close to the animals safely.

Visiting a Working Farm in New Zealand - Ambury Reginal Park, Auckland
Ambury is a working farm, so it’s popular with families keen to get up close to the animals – kids can even feed the lambs in spring. Afterwards, take the short Lost Gardens Walk to see remnants of early Māori stone mounds once used for gardening.
We went there just after I landed in Auckland after a 20 hour trip from Los Angles...so it was nice to get out and get some fresh air, see some friend, and also some animals.
Ambury farm park lies among the southern suburbs fronting the Manukau Harbour. Take in the various farm animals as you wander around the open pasture. Ambury is a significant habitat for shorebirds and the coast has excellent examples of basalt lava flows.

In the early October we went to the small town Waiuku, and explored the popular places in this region, such as Manukau Heads Lighthouse, and Awhitu regional park
We walked through the Brook Homestead walkway to see the historic place. It is interesting to know the history of this family.
The information below is from the council website
A pleasant country drive through Waiuku, leads to peaceful Āwhitu on the southwest shores of the Manukau Harbour. Wander freely over parkland pastures, explore the wetlands, enjoy the safe, sandy beaches and sheltered picnic and barbecue areas.

Sally Anderson on 60 Minutes New Zealand
Bestselling author and coach, Sally Anderson, in her interview with 60-minutes New Zealand. Sally was abducted and gang raped at the age of 16 by the Mongrel Mob, in one of the worst reported gang rapes in New Zealand in the early 80s. She then lived into 2 decades of the most dysfunctional behavior imaginable but as a result she now believes this was part of her life apprenticeship for what she does today. Her story of survival, courage and transformation was profiled in September 13 2004, on the TV3 documentary 60 Minutes. The documentary was an extraordinary testimony to human survival and commitment to the highest level of human performance against all odds.
Her determination to regain her life from the most dehumanising experience imaginable, to dedicating her life to helping others has shaped her personal development and destiny to become one of the most pre-eminent speakers and transformation coaches we have seen. Her unbelievably candid message, practical strategies and fresh ideas will invite you to examine, re-assess and reframe your life events to realize the greatness that exists within you.
Her personal brand of storytelling resonates with all types of audiences, revealing not only her expertise, but the passion for the subject she speaks about. Audience evaluations consistently rate her presentations as exceptional and life-altering!

Geocaching at Barry Curtis Park, Auckland (Part 1)
Today we present to you our second Geocaching adventure, this time in Barry Curtis Park, Auckland!
We were originally headed into the Hunua Ranges this day but the weather didn't really co-operate so we decided with a location with some shelter options as we still really wanted to cache!
We found every cache we went for, which was super cool and we didn't end up getting too wet either!

36 Galloway Crescent, Farm Cove, Manukau City, Auckland
This split level, five bedroom brick and cedar home is located in a highly sought after, peaceful crescent in Farm Cove. Set on a huge 923sqm site, the home enjoys captivating views and an exquisite outdoor entertainment area with in-ground pool. With summer knocking at the door, this home will provide endless hours of enjoyment for the whole family.
Immediately upon opening the front door, you will be smiling. A wide foyer greets you, light and bright from a recent coat of paint. The renovations to the home have been done beautifully, retaining the existing character features on display while modernising the balance of the home. The family bathroom is a great example, having gorgeous floor to ceiling tiles.
Two living areas adjoin the kitchen, one on either side. This is perfect for large families who need their space. The kitchen is clearly the hub of the home, with a breakfast bar and a serving window that opens to the outdoor entertaining space. When summer kicks in you can really see how this home will come alive.
You'll be drawn to the rear outdoor area - the pool is supremely inviting, enjoying views out to the estuary and soaking up all day sun. There are two garden sheds and a lawn area which is nicely fenced so that it is great for pets. There's even an in-ground spa!
Backing onto the Rotary walkway, you are immediately met with the waterfront. Another great feature of the location - from here you can saunter along the estuary - fantastic for weekend strolls, walking the dog, or taking the kids for a scoot.
The home is zoned for Wakaaranga Primary, Farm Cove Intermediate and Pakuranga College. The Primary school and Intermediate are an easy level walk - ideal for those busy drop off times!
I urge interested buyers to get along to an open home or call me for more information at your earliest convenience.
