Our Trip to Newfoundland | First Vlog

We decided to do our first Vlog about our recent trip to St. John's, Newfoundland. With the twin babies arriving in 6 months, it was time to fly to Ellott's hometown to introduce Maria to everyone. We got very lucky to have the whole week of great weather. Usually Newfoundland has a lot of fog, drizzle and rain. The beginning of the video we were taken on a road trip by Elliott's brother, where saw many places from Brigus to Salmon Cove Sands beach, to a statue of Amelia Earhart in Harbor Grace (seen in stories on Instagram @life.of.elliott) and many other small towns. During the weekend we stayed at Elliott's parent's cabin, and ate chanterelle mushrooms, freshly picked. Delicious!! And packed with vitamin D.
During this trip we also announced that we are expecting twins in January 2019! :)
The rest of our time in Newfoundland we spent either with family, with a little bit of sight seeing around the city. Including the most Easternly point of North America, Cape Spear.
We can't wait for our next visit to The Rock! And next time we will have the twins. Double the fun!

This video isn't your usual vlog, as there wasn't any actual talking. But we will be back with more videos and less mini movies with music. And if you really enjoyed this video please give it a thumbs up!

I've got some sad news. Francesco has got a better job. Well, I suppose it being sad news depends a bit on whose perspective you're looking from. For Francesco, I have happy news. You're getting a better job.

Yet, as much as his upward career progression fills me with pride, it's going to be putting us into quite a little pickle. We need a new battle ready videographer/editor who can put up with me for very long stretches of time. Probably best we start that process sooner rather than later.

Amelia Mary Earhart (, born July 24, 1897; disappeared July 2, 1937) was an American aviation pioneer and author. Earhart was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She received the United States Distinguished Flying Cross for this accomplishment. She set many other records, wrote best-selling books about her flying experiences and was instrumental in the formation of The Ninety-Nines, an organization for female pilots. In 1935, Earhart became a visiting faculty member at Purdue University as an advisor to aeronautical engineering and a career counselor to women students. She was also a member of the National Woman's Party and an early supporter of the Equal Rights Amendment.During an attempt to make a circumnavigational flight of the globe in 1937 in a Purdue-funded Lockheed Model 10-E Electra, Earhart and navigator Fred Noonan disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean near Howland Island. Fascination with her life, career, and disappearance continues to this day.

The Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP), (also Women's Army Service Pilots or Women's Auxiliary Service Pilots) was a civilian women pilots' organization, whose members were United States federal civil service employees. Members of WASP became trained pilots who tested aircraft, ferried aircraft and trained other pilots. Their purpose was to free male pilots for combat roles during World War II. Despite various members of the armed forces being involved in the creation of the program, the WASP and its members had no military standing.
WASP was preceded by the Women's Flying Training Detachment (WFTD) and the Women's Auxiliary Ferrying Squadron (WAFS). Both were organized separately in September 1942. They were pioneering organizations of civilian women pilots, who were attached to the United States Army Air Forces to fly military aircraft during World War II. On August 5, 1943, the WFTD and WAFS merged to create the WASP organization.
The WASP arrangement with the US Army Air Forces ended on December 20, 1944. During its period of operation, each member's service had freed a male pilot for military combat or other duties. They flew over 60 million miles; transported every type of military aircraft; towed targets for live anti-aircraft gun practice; simulated strafing missions and transported cargo. Thirty-eight WASP members lost their lives and one disappeared while on a ferry mission, her fate still unknown as of 2018. In 1977, for their World War II service, the members were granted veteran status, and in 2009 awarded the Congressional Gold Medal.
