Lauren Mascitti - My God's Bigger Than the Law
Lauren is a country singer/songwriter, guitarist, pianist, and mandolin player from Louisville, OH. Raised by her grandparents, she has been singing since the age of 7 and writing since she was old enough to make up jingles on her toy tape recorder. “I grew up surrounded by classic country music.
My papaw is a huge fan of the Highwaymen, especially Waylon Jennings, so Waylon became a big musical inspiration to me. My Nana would let me stay up late to watch the Statler Brothers show on TV, especially when Crystal Gayle was on. I even got the music bug watching Disney movies like Fantasia and Pocahontas. Music and lyrics have always been my way of expressing myself, and country and gospel music have always been the most honest outlet for me.”
She has sung at many of the theaters in Branson, MO including the Mickey Gilley Theater (in the Mickey Gilley show) Hamner Barber Theater, Mansion America, Tri Lakes, Mo Bandy Theater, the Americana, the Whitehouse Theater, and the Radisson Hotel. She also lived in Branson while doing Southern Gospel Sundays and over 30 shows with gospel legend Gary McSpadden at the Americana Theater.
She has studied under the vocal genius of Nashville, Brett Manning, and the very beautiful and talented Jana King3 Evans of Branson, MO. Lauren was also blessed to be in the top 8 for the Inspiration Network's National Christian Artist Talent Search for 2008 where she worked with Southern Gospel vocalist, Jason Crabb. Ventriloquist Jim Barber & Friends Concert
Barber Throws His Voice In Benefit Of Community Arts
Ventriloquist and comedian Jim Barber will be presenting a special concert of comedy and music on Saturday, January 12th at 2pm and 7pm at the Historic Owen Theatre. This one-day event is a benefit show with 100% of the proceeds going to the Branson Regional Arts Council.
Advanced reserve tickets are $14.95 (Adults 18+) and $9.95 (Youth 4-17) and can be purchased online at A small service charge applies to all ticket sales.
“I’m so excited to perform my act on this historic stage at the Owen Theatre,” said Barber. “I’ll be presenting some of my trademark comedy routines, as well as introduce a new character that our audience will love!”
Barber added, “I’m especially thrilled that some of my talented friends and daughter will also lend their skills on behalf of the Branson Regional Arts Council. It’s going to be a very special concert!”
Sharing the stage with Jim will be Country Gospel singers Melonie Brown, Babette Fogle and Aloha Post who perform together as Harmony Trio, as well as the multi-talented arial violinist Janice Martin from A Janice Martin Cirque Show appearing at the Americana Theatre in 2019. Jim’s 17 year-old daughter Jessica Barber will also be singing in the evening show only, as well as a special appearance by internationally acclaimed juggler Michael Chirrick.
Jim’s unique approach to the art of ventriloquism and his unusual vocal skills have earned him the reputation as one of the most original ventriloquist acts in the world. He has been featured on many national television shows, most notably, the Late Show with David Letterman.
Jim’s career started in Minneapolis, MN where he co-hosted a local children’s television show (Breakfast with Casey Jones) while attending college at the University of Minnesota. During that time, he also entertained for military troops as host of a USO variety show all across the United States and several Mediterranean countries. Jim then moved to Nashville, TN as a featured performer aboard Opryland USA’s General Jackson Showboat for two seasons, before setting out on a ten-year tour of comedy clubs and colleges across the country.
Jim was invited to relocate to Branson as the featured comedian in the Glen Campbell Goodtime Show in the mid-90’s. Jim went on to perform at the Kirby VanBurch Theatre, Osmond Family Theater, Jimmy Osmond’s American Jukebox Theatre, and eventually a 10-year run at the Hamner Barber Theatre.
In 2017 Jim accepted the role of Executive Director of the Branson Regional Arts Council and has since devoted his time and energy to working with a large group of talented volunteers. Together, they are developing new and exciting community arts programming for all residents in the Branson Tri-Lakes area. Last year, Jim earned his four-year IOM accreditation from the US Chamber of Commerce’s Institute of Organization Management, and the Arts Council was recently honored as the “Non-Profit of the Year” from the Branson Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce.
Abandoned Drive In Movie Theater in the Woods of Missouri!
Derek Deek Diedricksen explores a movie theater outside of Piedmont, MO (population 1900) on his trek to build an off-grid tree house on backwoods land while exploring the Ozarks. This abandoned drive in movie theater (closed only a year prior) is still in decent shape. It would be GREAT (before it rots) if someone eventually took it over.

Heaven on Earth - opening sequence
Opening sequence of the documentary HEAVEN ON EARTH (2001) by Rick Minnich.
Synopsis: Branson, Missouri. Some call it the new Nashville or the Las Vegas of the Bible Belt. Over the past twenty years, some 40 theaters have shot out of the ground in this once sleepy Ozark Mountain town of only 6000 inhabitants. Here in Americas heartland, country legends and television and stage stars from yesteryear have reincarnated themselves and offer up good ol' patriotic, Christian entertainment to six million tourists annually.
HEAVEN ON EARTH follows filmmaker Rick Minnichs quest to find the perfect America which Branson promises to be. Seeped in nostalgia, and wallowing in stars, stripes and neon lights, Branson is populated by such colorful figures as USO pin-up girl Jennifer Wilson, country music star Barbara Fairchild, boy wonder Matthew Matney, and, of course, Jesus Christ himself in the bombastic musical The Promise. Mixing show numbers, interviews, and behind the scenes shots, HEAVEN ON EARTH weaves a dense portrait of the making of the American myth. The film climaxes with the largest Veteran's Day celebration in the United States, including a rare, chilling interview with General Paul Tibbets, pilot of the 'Enola Gay,' in which he reflects upon his dropping of the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima.
Still only a small dot on the map, Branson now offers more theater seats than Las Vegas and Broadway combined, and has established itself as the second most popular drive-to holiday destination in the United States.

Haunted abandoned amusement park
This is the abandoned movie theater at Pleasure Beach in Bridgeport CT. It's a ghost town. The island homes are burned down, and the state dragged out most the rubble, but a few creepy things remain. It's hard to get to since the only driving bridge was torched.
If you believe in ghosts, you'd like this beach property.

Door Concerts, Inc. presents the Goldwing Express, a DesignWise Film Production
Dedicated to embodying their Native American heritage, the Goldwing Express delivers an appealing mix of heart-felt melodies backed with hard-driving acoustics that bring the music of Americana to life for fans all across the USA! From classic Southern Gospel and contemporary country favorites, to a lineage of historic bluegrass that began it all, Goldwing Express provides a mix of the lonesome western cowboy and hard-riding brave - wrapped in song, comedy and a few tears. Coupled with some of the best instrumentalists on any stage, this award-winning father and his three sons live and breathe this musical heritage every time they hit the stage.
The band is made up of three Native American brothers and their father, originally from Okmulgee, Oklahoma. A segment of each performance is dedicated to their Indian Heritage. Each brother wears his very own Native American headdress which represents the Creek Indian Tribe from which their mother is descended. They now reside in Branson, Missouri, producing their own music show along with making many concert appearances throughout the United States and Canada.
Bob Baldridge, the father plays mandolin and sings lead for the group. He also does a lot of the onstage comedic storytelling for Goldwing Express. His music career began when he and his brothers and sister sang in the early 70's and 80's. The family would gather at Grandmother's house and have all-day singing. Bob wanted to form his own family band shortly thereafter and along came sons Paul, Steven and Shawn.
Paul is the eldest son. He sings high tenor and plays the guitar for Goldwing Express. Paul covers much of the traditional bluegrass singing for the group. He has won several music awards throughout his career.
Steven, the middle age son, who sings mostly baritone, also plays the banjo. He loves to add gospel music to the show and wows the crowd with his traditional sounds on the banjo. Steven handles the business management of Goldwing Express.
Shawn is the youngest brother. He plays the upright bass fiddle and sings all the low-end notes. Crowds gather to hear Shawn sing songs like Hello Darlin, Lay you down, and Long Black Train. He likes to spice things up a bit by sounding like far off train whistle on occasion.
Their mother was a full blood Native American Creek Indian from Oklahoma. She and Bob decided to buy instruments for the boys at very young ages. Twenty-five years later, they are headlining many of the top bluegrass festivals and various concerts around the United States.
The name Goldwing Express came from their mother.
We used to ride Honda Gold Wing's in the late 80's, says Shawn. That's when Mom decided to name us the 'Goldwing Express.'
Children, music students and students of all ages are admitted free to Door Concerts, Inc. events.
