Filipina Visit To An Amish Store In Wisconsin _ Mishler's Country Store - W5115 Barry Rd, Dalton, WI
This was our visit to an Amish Store at Wisconsin. Old Order Amish originated in Switzerland about 1525, they started immigrating in the United states during 1700's. They follow simple customs and refuse to take oaths, vote or perform military service. They also refuse to do what the world does such as having TV, going to the movies and wearing make-up. They also refuse to enjoy the convenience of technology such as using the phone and internet because they believe it will cause a competition for status in life. Their community have a long list of rules to follow, If they fail to comply their church or an individual is in danger of being shunned. Shunning is the term they use for excommunicating a member, however, each of them is given an opportunity to experience the world on their teenage years.

Shopping Inside Heinis Cheese Chalet in Berlin, Ohio in the Amish Country
Our Grandfather, John (Hans) Dauwalder, trained as a master cheesemaker in Switzerland, and came to the United States in the 1920's to display his artisan talents in a growing cheese market. After several successful years at the Bunker Hill Cheese Co-op, John decided to return to his hometown in Switzerland to further his romance with Lili Mueller. The two fell in love and were married in 1933.
In 1948, John and Lili, together with their two children, Peter, our Father and Marguerite, our Aunt, sold the family farm in Switzerland to join John's Brother Crist in the United States. Crist had purchased Bunker Hill Cheese in 1935 and asked John to join him in building the family cheese business.
In 1962, our parents Peter and Nancy, who were married in 1955, acquired Bunker Hill Cheese. Today it is one of the premier cheese retailers east of the Mississippi River, and one of the most successful wholesale manufacturers serving clients throughout North America.
Our family business continues to be the primary outlet for the Amish farms in the region. The Amish farmers still provide their milk to our factory in traditional milk cans, the same manner as their forefathers did. The relationship between the farmers and the Dauwalder family is personal, and together we are committed to continuing on into the 21st century.

Walking around Sugarcreek, Ohio in the Amish Country
ugarcreek is a village in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,220 at the 2010 census. It is known as The Little Switzerland of Ohio.
The village of Shanesville was founded in 1814 by Abraham Shane at the intersection of two Indian trails (currently Ohio State Routes 39 and 93). One of my favorite places to get farm fresh foods. Many locally grown products from Ohio's Amish country. Other produce from great farms in other states. Harvey's is family owned and operated. They take cash, or checks, and charges over $20. Located near Millersburg, off 39. Close to Berlin, Millersburg and Loudonville.

Amish Door Village
Selected by USA Today as one of the best meals of 2006, the Amish Door serves excellence. From hearty breakfasts to dinners, diners are more than customers, while enjoying the hospitality. A bakery, Victorian Inn and shops lead to a daylong visit.
The Amish Door Village is a triple threat in Amish Country—eat, sleep, and shop. Guests of all ages can eat, shop and relax at the complex.
Specializing in authentic Amish Country home-style food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, satisfied diners continue to dish up accolades.
In addition to the restaurant, the heart of the village, a Victorian inn has all the upscale amenities of big city lodging establishments, along with traditional values that epitomize what Amish Country is about.
In addition to the inn at the complex, a nearby bed and breakfast provides overnight guests with yet another option. Throughout the village, shops are open during restaurant hours with gifts ranging from small ornaments to large decorative throws. An old-fashioned general store offers pantry-filling items as well.
A bakery next to the restaurant is also a popular stop, giving visitors a sweet taste of what has made Amish Country popular. Whether it’s the famous peanut butter spread or homemade peanut butter cream pie, the bakery is freshly filled with tasty treats.
A conference/banquet center is also on-site, which periodically is home to a dinner theater, giving families an opportunity to enjoy wholesome entertainment, in addition to weddings, meetings and large gatherings.
