Trumpetfish hunts and eats a snapper in Sodwana Bay
During a dive on 7 mile reef with Amoray Diving in Sodwana Bay, South Africa, we encountered a number of trumpetfish hunting. I was very lucky to capture this moment on video, as a trumpetfish hunted and grabbed a dory snapper, and then struggled to swallow it.
Strange cylindrical jelly structure floating in Sodwana Bay
While diving with Amoray Diving on 24 April 2015, we noticed an unusual organism suspended in the water above us during a safety stop over 2-mile reef in Sodwana Bay, South Africa. It was about 1.5m in length, soft, cylindrical and had no motion of its own, with small tendrils on the surface.
I believe it may be some kind of egg-casing but any suggestions are welcome.
