New Now at Manege: Kai Kartio, Amos Rex (Helsinki)
The public art Helsinki museum Amos Rex opened in August 2018 on base of the Amos Anderson museum and the Bio Rex theatre – a masterpiece of Finnish functionalism. The exhibition spaces are hidden underground, the space above them relinquished to the street.
Amos Rex director Kai Kartio told about the secret behind this new space’s popularity, what kinds of tasks are demanded of its administration, what upcoming exhibition plans the museum has, how to effectively work with an audience, and what it is like to display dramatically different projects in their space.
New Now at Manege is Manege’s annual initiative presenting a series of stimulating talks with leading figures of the international cultural processes. Programme curated by Anna Kirikova (Manege).

Artist Julius Njau painting one of Considered His Best Show known Sweet Art Exhibition ever
Artist Julius Njau - Art montage in The World
Julius Njau was born in 1961 in Marangu, Moshi in Tanzania. He attended the Kilimanjaro Primary School and the Moshi Technical Secondary School where he graduated. His career as an artist started when he began to paint while he had to spend two years in hospital after he broke his leg badly in 1972. There he was treated by a Finnish X-ray specialist who was the first to encourage his art, buying materials for him, and works from him. She organized his first exhibition in Finland in 1983. His early works were representaional, working with the themes of his people's traditions and wildlife. 1984 saw a dramatic change in his technique and style as he shifted into the abstract. His paintings are constructed from the interplay of primary colors and the intermingling of obscured shapes. Julius Njau's vast work has been collected by the Prefecture of Osaka, and the Museum of Modern Art Toyama in Japan, the Museum fur Volkerkunde, Frankfurt, and Galerie ZAK (Zeitgenossische afrikanische Kunst), Furth in Germany, Amos Anderson Gallery, Helsinki, Finland, and 5th British Museum, England. In 2002, Julius Njau received the Nagoya Mayor's Prize and in 2003 he was awarded the Grand Prize in the Toyama Prefecture's International Competition for the Sukiyaki Meets the World Festival Poster Design. Julius Njau is a founding member and President of Marafiki - Friendship and Art.
Artist Julius Njau — History. Articles, Video, Pictures and interview And Exhibition 1985-2009
Julius Njau föddes 1961 i Marangu, Moshi i Tanzania. Hon arrangerade hans första utställning i Finland 1980.

The Nicosphere was originally an installation, in the context of
visual arts. It was composed of music (by Merja Kokkonen) and an essay (by Antti Nylén) and a camera obscura. The Nicosphere was installed at Amos Anderson art museum in Helsinki, fall 2015, as a part of group exhibition centered on the spirituality of St. Teresa of Ávila (1515–1582).
The work was centered on the persona and music of Nico (1938–1988), and Kokkonen's music was a free rendition of Nico's song No One Is There. This forms the soundtrack to the video, called Nicosfääri, in Finnish.
The video was originally shot on Super 8 mm film and edited digitally.
Merja Kokkonen is a recording artist under the name Islaja, and because Nicosfääri video is independent from the 2015 installation, the video too is a Islaja video.

Artist Julius Njau urodził się w 1961 roku w mieście Marangu, Moshi w Tanzanii. Uczęszczał do Szkoły Podstawowej Kilimandżaro i Liceum Technicznego w Mosohi.
