Video 98A - Whenever we visit Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, we discover something new. This time, we discovered a gem of a place that is only a week old. It's ABC Massage & Spa, which is located in District 1. Its owner is a massage enthusiast himself, so he put a lot of thought and care into building a fine establishment. We were surprised by the cleanliness and the overall superior service from the staff. Even the shampoo and facial cleansing products were definitely of high quality. We hope you enjoy the video as much as we enjoyed the service. This is part 1 of 3 part video.

In today's video we visited Little Tokyo in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The food was great since it was Japanese, but we also noticed a lot of body massage hustlers on the street! At one point, when we first walked through there was at least 10 of them that shouted body massage sir at once, wish I was recording! Enjoy the video nonetheless.

The Good, the bad and the ugly:
Good:
- Fantastic location for the bars and restaurants of Bui Vien street
- Girl friendly (no extra fees to pay at reception)
- Clean, functional rooms
- Good value for the area
The bad:
- Many rooms are windowless, this might put some people off
- No swimming pool or fitness center
The ugly:
- If you have a room with a window it could be very noisy
Overall: I really like Gia Vien hotel in Saigon, it ticks a lot of boxes and is very good value for the area. I actually preferred the windowless room on this visit as it was much quieter than the VIP room. I would probably book a standard windowless room next time I stay as I'm hardly in the room at all when in Saigon...

Pham Ngu Lao nightlife is also one of Ho Chi Minh’s finest, with throngs of street vendors, bia hoi stalls, lively bars, and downtown clubs filling up the lively scene. Interesting nightlife entertainment spots include The View Rooftop Bar, Seventeen Saloon, Go 2 and Crazy Buffalo Nightclub as well as many smaller pubs that are known for their cheap drinks and happy hour promos. It’s also common around here to meet friendly expats who are more than happy to share a few tips about travelling in and beyond Vietnam. If you want to immerse yourself in the local culture, we highly suggest getting up early and visit the parks within the area. It is interesting to see (and even to join in on) the elders participating in Tai Chi-like exercise sessions. Another must-do is heading to the morning markets such as Ben Tanh Market, where local vendors sell a wide array of fresh produce, household supplies, and Vietnamese street food at attractive prices. As Pham Ngu Lao is not such a large area, it’s the perfect place to explore on foot - the best time to do this is in the morning and late afternoon as the weather can be rather scorching at the height of the day. If you’re feeling adventurous, there are also travel agencies that can help arrange for day trips within the city centre and beyond.
