The Great Mosque of An-Nur (Mesjid Agung An-nur) PekanBaru, Sumatra, Indoensia is a favourite tourist spot among Halal tourists or Syariah based tourism operators. Pekanbaru (Jawi: ڤكنبارو) is the capital of Riau, a province in Indonesia on the island of Sumatra. It is a rapidly developing clean city, which is famous for its natural resources including petrol, palm oil plantations, rubber and paper pulp. Melayu culture is dominant in this area and the traditional script is written using Arabic script, JAWI. Restaurants in this area serve spicy foods ( Masakan Padang). They are Halal and can taste similar to food recipes of Indian or Arab Muslims.
City is located by the Siak River, which drains to the Strait of Malacca that makes Pekanbaru has direct access to the busy strait and was long known as a trading port. This city is served by the Sultan Syarif Kasim II International Airport and Sungai Duku Port that is located by the Siak River. It is easy to travel to Pekanbaru from Malaysia or Singapore
