With an Immense effort in lush forests with extreme environment,This video is shot in and around the gigantic Anamudi peak of western ghats.
Anamudi is the highest peak in the Western Ghats in India, having an elevation of 2,695 metres (8,842 ft).Anamudi is also the highest point in South India.This gives Anamudi its relatively large topographic prominence of 2,479 metres (8,133 ft), The peak is the highest point of the Periyar river basin.
The peak is not exceptionally dramatic in term of steepness or local relief and is a fault-block mountain.It is located in the southern region of Eravikulam National Park at the junction of the Cardamom Hills, the Anaimalai Hills and the Palani Hills. The nearest towns are Munnar and Udumalpet. The easiest route to the summit of Anamudi is a technically easy hike on grass slopes, starting from a rolling hill plateau with a base elevation of about 2,000 metres (6,600 ft). The north and south slopes are gentle, while the east and west slopes are steeper, with more difficult rock faces.
Anamudi and the Eravikulam National Park surrounding it is home to the largest surviving population of the Nilgiri tahr (Nilgiritragus hylocrius). Asian elephants, gaur, Bengal tigers, and the Nilgiri marten are some of the species of animals found here .

Anamudi, the 2,695-m high mountain which stands tall in the Eravikulam National Park is the pride of Kerala. It is the highest point in India outside the Himalayan Mountain Ranges. Anamudi, together with the Eravikulam Park, is home to one of the largest surviving populations of Asian elephants, Gaurs and the Nilgiri Tahrs. The mountain, covered with evergreen forests and inhabited by endemic flora and fauna and a vibrant avian life, is a paradise in the wild. The green forest is also the source of some large and scenic rivers in Kerala and the nearby State of Tamil Nadu. Take a trek to the top of the mountain and know how it would feel when you are above every human in South India !

We need to take govt bus to the top of the Eravikulam National park in Munnar as private vehicle is not allowed there. Bus ride takes us through the beautiful tea gardens and awesome landscape. Famous Nilgiri Tahr reside here in Eravikulam.
Bus ticket price is 125 per head.
Eravikulam National park is a must visit place in Kerala the god's own country.
We can further trek to Anamudi peak the highest peak in South India and is also called Everest of South which is present near this National park.

The last stretch if you want to do will be more of rock climbing and can be slightly risky depending on your experience and weather. It was heavily misty when we climbed and have a great experience. To do this trek you need a local guide as you can get lost. Basically you follow the trial created by the wild elephants to climb up????. To reach he base camp you need to get in touch with any of the trek groups as it’s accessible via an off-road trial only. Avoid monsoon time, that’s June to August. Enjoy and don’t litter and help keep the nature pristine.

Eravikulam National Park is a 97 km2 national park located along the Western Ghats in the Idukki district of Kerala in India. Situated between 10º05'N and 10º20' north, and 77º0' and 77º10' east, (See:map.) it is the first national park in Kerala.
