Ana Sagar Lake is an artificial lake situated in the city of Ajmer in Rajasthan state in India. It was built by Arnoraja (alias Ana), the grandfather of Prithviraj Chauhan, in 1135 -1150 AD and is named after him. The lake is spread over 13 Kilometers. The Baradari or pavilions were built by Shahjahan in 1637 and Daulat Bagh Gardens by Jehangir.
आना सागर झील आणा सागर झील भारत में राजस्थान राज्य के अजमेर संभाग में स्थित एक कृत्रिम झील है। इस झील का निर्माण पृथ्वीराज चौहान के पितामह अरुणोराज या आणाजी चौहान ने बारहवीं शताब्दी के मध्य (1135-1150 ईस्वी) करवाया था। आणाजी द्वारा निर्मित करवाये जाने के कारण ही इस झील का नामकरण आणा सागर या आना सागर प्रचलित माना जाता है। झील के लिए जलसंभरण का कार्य स्थानीय आबादी द्वारा करवाया गया था। १६३७ ईस्वी में शाहजहाँ ने झील के किनारे लगभग १२४० फीट लम्बा कटहरा लगवाया और पाल पर संगमरमर की पाँच बारादरियों का निर्माण करवाया। झील के प्रांगण में स्थित दौलत बाग का निर्माण जहाँगीर द्वारा करवाया गया जिसे सुभाष उद्यान के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। आना सागर का फैलाव लगभग १३ किलोमीटर की परिधि में विस्तृत है।

Anasagar Jheel Ajmer Documentary: It is an artificial lake surrounded by the Aravalli Hills, situated in the city of Ajmer in Rajasthan state. There is an island in the center of the lake which is accessible by boat. Boats could be hired from the east side of the Dault Bagh. There are Chowapatty and Jetty walkway. It is a very good place for refreshing in cool breeze coming through lake. Lot of tourist comes here so it is a crowded and busy place. It is nearly 2 km from railway station and 1 km from Bus stand. this lake also called Pai sagar lake.
It was built by Anaji tomar (Anangpal tomar), the grandfather of Prithvi Raj Chauhan, in 1135 to 1150. The marble pavilions called Baradari were built by Shahjahan in 1637. Scenic beauty of surrounding the lake can be capture from here. Famous Subhas garden or Daulat Bagh is adjacent to it. This Jheel also called Pai sagar Jheel.

Ana Sagar Ajmer
Ana Sagar Lake is an artificial lake situated in the city of Ajmer in Rajasthan state in India. It was built by Arnoraja (alias Ana), the grandfather of Prithviraj Chauhan, in 1135 -1150 AD and is named after him. The catchments were built with the help of local populace. The lake is spread over 13 Kilometers. The Baradari or pavilions were built by Shahjahan in 1637 and Daulat Bagh Gardens by Jahangir. There is a Circuit house on a hill near the lake that used to be British Residency. There is an island in the center of the lake which is accessible by boat. Boats could be hired from the east side of the Dault Bagh. There are Chowpatty and Jetty walkway next to each other and Baradari to capture the scenic of the lake. The lake is the biggest one in Ajmer, with the maximum catchments area (5 square km built up area). The maximum depth of lake is 4.4 m with storage capacity of 4.75 million cubic meter. The Rajasthan High Court has banned construction in the catchment areas of the lake basins.
Legend of Auliya Moinuddin Chishti When the Muslim saint Moinuddin Chishti arrived in Ajmer, he and his followers were banned from using water from Ana Sagar. He requested to get a cup of water that was granted. When the cup was filled, the water of the lake got dried up miraculously. People requested to return the water, the saint gracefully did so. Since then Moinuddin Chishti got multitude of followers.

Ana Sagar Lake is one of the most famous lakes in Rajasthan and offers a number of recreational activities for tourists visiting Ajmer.
