Saint Augustine Florida-RV Camping at Anastasia State Park
This week we head back to do some more RV camping at Anastasia State Park while visiting Saint Augustine Florida and stayed once again in Anastasia State Park again. This has kinda become an annual trip for us it seems. This is where we got engaged in 2007 on June 30th.
This trip we had friends Dave and Mellissa join us while camping and met up with my sister Lori and her boyfriend Nick. My sister had just got a new pup and this was Nikki May and Mutley's first time meeting her and she named her Jelly!
Of course we had a dinner at OC Whites as we usually do, but also tried a new place called Florida Cracker Cafe. We LOVED it! so dog friendly and good sized portions at a reasonable price too. We also pick up a new water bowl for the pups at Faux Paws on st george street st augustine while shopping there. We just love walking st george street and the surrounding streets to soak in the ambiance of the town.
We also got caught in some crazy wind and storms while walking around the St Augustine fort castillo de san marcos and the downtown area the last night there. That and the ghost made it quite scary LOL!!! Nikki seemed as though she seen the ghost at the gates of the little girls 3 trips now she has done this. creepy!!!
We had a great time as always and we are talking about trying next years maybe in the fall when it's not quite so hot! We just love visiting saint augustine!

Places to see in ( St. Augustine - USA )
St. Augustine is a city on the northeast coast of Florida. It lays claim to being the oldest city in the U.S., and is known for its Spanish colonial architecture as well as Atlantic Ocean beaches like sandy St. Augustine Beach and tranquil Crescent Beach. Anastasia State Park is a protected wildlife sanctuary. The Castillo de San Marcos is a 17th-century Spanish stone fortress with views of the St. Augustine Inlet.
St Augustine is a small jewel of a city on the east coast, full of romantic ambiance and old world charm. It is best known for its remarkable historic streets, Spanish style architecture, and panoramic bay. Do take time to wander down St. George street, a promenade of sorts, and enjoy the art galleries, quaint shops, and restaurants.
St. Augustine is best known as the oldest European settlement in the United States. Spanish explorer, Juan Ponce de Leon, claimed the land now known as Florida in the name of Spain on March 27, 1513. Originally the land was named La Florida, which means Land of Flowers. The city was founded by Spanish explorer Pedro Menendez de Aviles in 1565. What makes St Augustine so genuinely endearing is the accessibility of its rich history via countless top-notch museums and the authenticity of its centuries-old architecture, monuments and narrow cobbled lanes. Unlike Florida's numerous historical theme parks, St Augustine is the real deal.

Real Life Pirate Ship - Nao Victoria - Saint Augustine - Matts Rad Show
Victoria (or Nao Victoria, as well as Vittoria) was a Spanish carrack and the first ship to successfully circumnavigate the world. The Victoria was part of a Spanish expedition commanded by the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan, and after his death during the voyage, by Juan Sebastián Elcano. The expedition began with five ships but the Victoria was the only ship to complete the voyage. Magellan was killed in the Philippines. The ship was built at a shipyard in Gipuzkoa, with the Basques being reputed shipbuilders at the time, and along with the four other ships, it was given to Magellan by King Charles I of Spain. Victoria was named after the church of Santa Maria de la Victoria de Triana, where Magellan took an oath of allegiance to Charles V in order to be granted full access to the Spice Islands. Victoria was an 85 ton ship with a crew of 42.
The four other ships were Trinidad
San Antonio
Concepcion
Santiago
Trinidad, Magellan's flagship,
Victoria was rated a carrack or nao (ship), as were all the others except Trinidad, which was a caravel.
