Stray Puppies in the Ancient Ruins of Kos Town, Greece
In the ancient ruins of Agora in Kos Town I found this pack of stray puppies keeping each other company. I also found a poster asking for people to adopt them, and explaining how to take them back home if home is in another country.
After researching stray cats and dogs in Kos, I found this blog with a photograph with two of these pups as adults on the beach, taken 8 years after I found them in the ruins. The black dog with brown legs is unmistakable, and the brown dog is also very similar - so similar that they must be the same dogs that I saw playing together in those ruins all those years before -
To compare them with a clearer picture have a look at my own blog post, which features some photographs that I took of the puppies at the time of filming -
Apologies for the video quality - digital video recording technology has come a long way since this was filmed back in September 2003. This was recorded on my first digital camera, a Fuji Finepix A303 in glorious 320x240, 10 Frames per Second!
Thanks for watching!

Kos Town Greece 2018
Kos Island Greece is one of Dodocanese islands in the Aegean See. It is the third largest island of the Dodocanese, after Rodes and Karpathos.
On the northeastern part of island is situated Kos town the capital and main port.
Town is ideal place for walking around and admire ancient Greek, Roman and Byzantine ruins or medieval castle, or just walk along the Palm Tree Avenue. You can go around town by bicycle since there are many bicycle paths through the town. Mini train for sightseeing is a bit expensive for what you get.
Port is important and very vibrant part of town. There are many excursion wooden boats for neighboring islands Persimos, Kalymnos and Plati. Also ferryboats for Bodrum Turkey, and many fancy yachts.
All along the port are bars and restaurants with nice drinks and tasty food ( Gyros, Souvlaki, posa cheese in wine...).
Medieval Castle of the Knights of Saint John, Neratzia is next to the port. Entrance is by bridge that crosses over beautiful Palm Tree Avenue. It was closed due to last year (2017) earthquake.
In the center of town is large platan tree seeded by Hippocrates ( legend ) father of medicine, who lived on Kos and worked in Asclepion.
There are many signs of past all around town: Agora, Roman Villa, Roman Odeon, Western archeological site, Asclepion 3.5 km from town.
Near the town there are nice beaches with good beach bar like: Lambi, Mylos, Ag. Fokas and Thermes.
You can watch in my others videos.

De Haven van Kos - 2018 - KOS TOWN HARBOUR - KOS STADT HAFEN
Kos-Stad Mei 2018
----
Kos City is the capital of the island, has the largest port and is the tourist and cultural center. Close to the harbor is the 14th century Neratzia Castle, built in 1315 by the Knights of St. John of Rhodes. In the center of the city is an old market place, an agora. The ancient Asklepieion is located between Kos Town and the Dikeos.
As a sail enthusiast, everything that happens around a port attracts me. There were two Dutch boats of which I follow one through a blog, they sail every year for 6 months in the waters of Greece. Nice to meet them in person now.
I was planning to assemble a video with my Iphone on the spot. There were too many recordings, hence this was mounted in the Netherlands at home. On my next visit I will make a 4K version. Enjoy a moment or come into the atmosphere of your visit to Kos.

Tha Me Koitas Sta Matia (Θα με κοιτάς στα μάτια)
You’ll look me in the eyes
—One day maybe we’ll meet again
—In a group of friends, in a friendly house
And like two strangers we’ll introduce each other again
—But you will know that I still love you
—And you’ll look me in the eyes and I’ll become pieces
Like a boat that breaks in two
—And I will hide a tear from the corner of the eyes
—That will tell you I still love you, that will tell you I still love you
One day maybe we’ll meet again
—at a traffic light downtown suddenly
– and like two strangers we will simply look at each other
and maybe we’ll say a friendly “hello”
And you’ll look me in the eyes and I’ll become pieces
Like a boat that breaks in two
And I will hide a tear from the corner of the eyes
That will tell you I still love you, that will tell you I still love you.

Κως Kos ANCIENT GREECE Asclepeion
Greece, Kos Island - the Asklepieion
Photographer:Samuel Magal (Samuel@sites-and-photos.com)
An asclepeion was a healing temple in ancient Greece (and Rome), sacred to the god Asclepius, the Greek god of medicine. These healing temples were a place where patients would visit to receive either treatment or some sort of healing, whether it was spiritual or physical. The Asclepeion of Kos is one of the most impressive sanctuaries consacrated to Asclepius, the greek god of medicine.
EXPLORING island of KOS, extensive EARTHQUAKE DAMAGE all over (GREECE) ????
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's visit the beautiful Greek island of Kos and let's view the destroyed building from the strong earthquake that took place on July 21, 2017. Two people have been killed and five more seriously injured on the Greek island of Kos after tourist destinations around the Aegean Sea were rocked by a 6.5-magnitude earthquake in the early hours. A further 200 people in Greek and Turkish coastal towns were injured.
Kos, one of Greece’s Dodecanese islands, is known for its abundant sandy beaches. It’s also rich with Greek and Roman landmarks, particularly in and around Kos Town. This harbor town is dominated by the 15th-century Neratzia Castle. South of the castle are the Ancient Agora ruins, with a temple, shrine and columns. The 3rd-century Casa Romana villa has lavish mosaics.
Greece is a country in southeastern Europe with thousands of islands throughout the Aegean and Ionian seas. Influential in ancient times, it's often called the cradle of Western civilization. Athens, its capital, retains landmarks including the 5th-century B.C. Acropolis citadel with the Parthenon temple. Greece is also known for its beaches, from the black sands of Santorini to the party resorts of Mykonos.

A walk through Zia Village on Kos island - JustGreece.com
A walk through Zia Village on Kos island. The traditional mountain village of Zia is located approximately 14 kilometers (9 mi) southwest of Kos town on the Greek island of Kos. This is probably the most picturesque mountain village of Kos that keeps to its traditional character. The small, white houses with blue doors and windows are built in an amphitheater-like manner on the rocks. The hospitable people, the open-air market and the spectacular view have made Zia a favorite destination on Kos island. More information and beautiful photos,
