Similan Islands with Thailand Liveaboards
Just 60 miles northwest of Phuket, lie the Similan Islands. The word 'Similan' comes from the Malaysian word 'sembilan' (which means the number 'nine'). The Similan Island National Park is without doubt the most prestigious marine park in Thailand and easily accessible via Thailand liveaboards.
Running from south to north and numbered accordingly, lie these truly unspoilt granite islands. With crystal clear seas and stunning coral formations, no wonder Jacques Cousteau believed it to be, one of the best diving destinations in the world.
The islands, best experienced on Thailand liveaboards, are densely covered with tropical vegetation, offering short and easy adventure trekking through the rainforest jungles. Due to the raging south west monsoon, the exposed south, west and north sides of each island, offer stunning underwater scenery. What you see above is what you get below. Rising from depths of more than 50 metres, the sea consists of large granite boulders that lay strewn together, overgrown with hard and soft corals. This provides some magnificent Similan Islands diving, with many interesting swim throughs, canyons, archways and caves.
Protected from the raging monsoons on the east side of each island, you will find untouched, powdery white sandy beaches. Underwater, you will be able to witness, sand slopes with beautiful fringing reefs. Teeming with a large diversity of marine life, these reefs are perfect for drift diving.
Being part of the Indian Ocean network, the Similan Islands can boast more than 250 species of soft and hard corals and more than 800 species of fishes. And when the plankton blooms, you have the opportunity to see the largest of them all, creatures such as manta rays and whale sharks visit the area regularly. If you are a diver and are planning a liveaboard trip to Thailand, make sure you visit the area and try diving in Similan Island.
The Surin Islands, are also included in Thailand's national park system. They consist of two densely tropical rainforest islands, and are the home an endemic tribe of sea gypsies called the Mokens. If you have the time, they are certainly worth a visit. Experiencing a unique tribe really makes you think what life is all about. Do we really need televisions, cell phones and motor cars? These people are still living from the natural resources of their islands and the surrounding sea. Witnessing this, the memory will stay with you forever.
Lying 10 miles to the south east of the Surin Islands, sits the world famous Richelieu Rock. Made from limestone, Richelieu Rock is a horse shoe shaped pinnacle, rising from depths of 35 metres to just break through the surface at low tide. Constantly bathed in nutrient-rich water, Richelieu Rock supports an incredible diversity of marine life, from cuttlefish to schooling Barracudas, from seahorses to whale sharks.
Not so many years ago we could have almost guaranteed a sighting of one of these enormous but friendly animals, but due to the unfortunate demand for SHARK FIN Soup, the numbers have declined. Hopefully now as whale sharks have CITES category C world protection, the biggest fish in the world will soon make his come back and then once again we will hopefully be able to guarantee a sighting of this formidable creature for you. Richelieu Rock is the perfect liveaboard dive site for repetitive multi-level diving, giving you the opportunity to extend your underwater time, so you can truly explore and experience its wonders.

Phuket Town Day Tour With Scooter | Phuket Thailand Tour vlog
Phuket is one of the biggest islands in Thailand. Phuket old town is the hearth of this island. Being based in Phuket it is very easy to explore the surroundings of the Phuket island on the Andaman Sea. It is very easy to rent a boat or go on organised tours in to Phi Phi Islands, James Bond Island or any other island from in the Phang Nga Bay Thailand. Phuket is very popular tourist destination, being easily connected to the rest of the world via its international airport.
Renting a scooter in Phuket is one if the best things to do as you have the freedom and time to explore more. Driving a scooter in Thailand is very cheap and is one of the best options to move around once you settled in a place.
This video vlogs one day tour around Phuket Old Town area. You can get a good idea on what you can see and do in a day in Phuket, Thailand. The main attraction points highlighted here are:
1. The Monkey Hill Phuket - very close to Phuket Town, this attraction provides splendid views over one side of the Phuket Town, and gives you the chance to see the monkeys; there are plenty of monkeys here and some local fruit juices and drunks that you can have on the way.
2. Khao Rang View Point is a very quiet and peaceful spot to relax and enjoy the splendid views over the Phuket Town.
3. Karon View Point is one of the busiest view points in Phuket Island just because it offers views over the three most famous beaches in Phuket and the Andaman Sea. Here you can see a beautiful sunset over the Phuket island.
4. Big Buddha is highlight of the Phuket island. The journey to Big Buddha can be very pleasant as you can stop to feed the elephants or enjoy some green fresh coconuts. Big Buddha offers amazing views over Phuket Town and inspires you with the grand marble statue of Buddha.
Riding a scooter will allow you to easily see all these attractions and in the same time you could squeeze in an hour or two of beach time on the west coast of Phuket Island.

The Passage - South Andaman, Thailand
Under water passage fascinates me every time. Floating through these under water path ways, I always feel at peace and sometimes even enlightened. The contrast -- the light and the dark, the solid and the void, reflects rhythm of life. Beams of light from above make every move feel spiritual. Emerging from the dark into the bright blue sea feels like a reborn.

Phuket & The Phi Phi Islands Jewel of the Andaman
Sailing Phuket and the Phi Phi archipelago in Thailand.
We filmed this over a week aboard a catamaran in Phuket. Having never before sailed in Asia, I wasn't sure what to expect. But surrounded in emerald-green waters amongst dozens of scattered limestone towers, I soon found this place to be one of the most beautiful I'd been to. Exploring the natural tunnels and open-ceiling caves (hongs in Thai), I was overwhelm by discovery and mystery -- and realized these islands looked like the ones in my dreams.
We circled through Phi Phi and Ao Phang Nga. Some of the islands we visited include Ko Phi Phi, Ko Yao Noi, Ko Dam, Ko Poda, Ko Roi, Ko Kudzu Yai, Ko Phanak, Ko Hong Krabi, and Ko Phing Kan (James Bond Island).
A huge thanks to The Moorings for letting us use their boat. The Moorings 4800 catamaran was gorgeous and a pleasure to sail.

THAILAND: Why Phuket to Phi Phi Islands Trip is so Popular
Here's the Full video of awesome moments from Phuket to Phi Phi Islands Trip during Thailand Tour. The Phi Phi Island is popular as Thailand's island-superstar. It's also been in several Famous movies of Hollywood and Bollywood and rest of the world cinema. Phi Phi Islands, the Island group in Thailand is the most preferred destination for travellers all over Thailand.
The Phi Phi Islands are an island group in Thailand, between the large island of Phuket and the Andaman coast of Thailand. The islands are administratively part of Krabi Province.
The Phi Phi islands are some of the loveliest in Southeast Asia. Just a 45-minute speedboat trip. Just south west of Krabi coastline lie the stunning Phi Phi Islands, part of a marine national park that's one of the world's most unforgettable destinations.
To get to Phi Phi, there are basically two options: ferries and speedboats. The ferry is by far the most popular method of reaching the islands. Ferries take about two hours from Phuket and 90 minutes from Krabi or Koh Lanta. The main departure/arrival port in Phuket is Rassada Pier, located in Phuket Town.
There are six islands in the group known as Phi Phi. They lie 40 kilometres (25 miles) south-east of Phuket and are part of Hat Nopparat Thara-Ko Phi Phi National Park which is home to an abundance of corals and marine life. There are limestone mountains with cliffs, caves, and long white sandy beaches.
The Top 10 Things To Do And See In Koh Phi Phi
* Visit Phi Phi Le National Park
* Hire A Long-Tailed Boat
* Try Snorkeling In Hat Yao
* Hike to Ao Lo Dalam
* Take A Boat To The Viking Caves
* Try Your Hand At Rock Climbing
* Kayak Around Koh Phi Phi
* Visit Mosquito Island
Maya Beach, on the Thai island of Koh Phi Phi Leh, will be closed for four months from June. According to officials, the closure is a bid to halt environmental damage caused by tourists.
James Bond Island Tours. Joining a James Bond Island tour and cruise the Phang Nga Bay is the second most popular activity in the region. The area is situated 25 km north-east of Phuket. It consists of numerous dramatic limestone cliffs rising sheer out of the waters.
The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) – Filmed around Bangkok and Phang Nga Bay near Phuket. Bond attended a boxing match at Ratchadamnoen Boxing Stadium in Pom Prap Sattru Phai district. One of the islands seen in the film is known as the Nail island (or Ko Khao Tapoo).
The waterfall scene, where DiCaprio and others jump from a high cliff to the water below, was filmed in Khao Yai National Park in central Thailand, at the Haew Suwat Waterfall. The map in the film was illustrated by the author of the book that The Beach was based upon, Alex Garland.
Today, Ko Phi Phi is one of Thailand's most famous destinations for scuba diving and snorkeling, kayaking and other marine recreational activities. The number of tourists visiting the island every year is so high that Ko Phi Phi's coral reefs and marine fauna have suffered major damage as a result.
