Exploring Arequipa, Peru in the Andes Mountains
Cusco, Peru (RT#72)
Hi guys,
after a short stay in Lima we entered Cusco, the center of Inka culture. Besides its function as gateway to Machu Picchu, Cusco is a beautiful city wit a charming and astonishing old city center, where original Inka stone walls build the base for many houses and lots of temples arround. Suffering from high attitide (approx. 3400m - coming from Lima which is nearly zero) - we walked up and down the alleys. Unfortunately it wasn't allowed to take pictures inside the huge cathedrals of Cusco - so we cannot show the extraordenary interior, representing a mixture of christian an inka symbols and interior design.
Hope u like it,
xxx Realiteens

Ollantaytambo Tour in the Sacred Valley, Cusco, Peru
The sixth day of my South American trip.
Today was spent on a bus tour around the Sacred Valley in Cusco, Peru.
Ollantaytambo is a town and an Inca archaeological site in southern Peru some 60 kilometers northwest of the city of Cusco. It is located at an altitude of 2,792 meters (9,160 feet) above sea level in the district of Ollantaytambo, province of Urubamba, Cusco region. During the Inca Empire, Ollantaytambo was the royal estate of Emperor Pachacuti who conquered the region, built the town and a ceremonial center. At the time of the Spanish conquest of Peru it served as a stronghold for Manco Inca Yupanqui, leader of the Inca resistance. Nowadays it is an important tourist attraction on account of its Inca buildings and as one of the most common starting points for the three-day, four-night hike known as the Inca Trail.

The Altitude is Killing Me I Cusco, Peru Travel Vlog
Here in Cusco, and the Altitude is killing me.
It's almost the end of our photography workshop here in Peru, and the altitude has been beating me pretty bad. In fact, the altitude is killing me.
On past trips to high altitude places in the Andes like here in Peru, but also in Bolivia, I've not really been affected all that badly. In fact, it almost seemed like a bit of a joke before. I could basically behave the same at high altitude as I could at sea level. This trip, however, the altitude is crushing me.
And, it's not like the altitude in Cusco is all that high. It sits at about 3400m above sea level. And, in the past, I lived in Cusco without any real issue.
Of course, it is possible that I am struggling more because I'm also still fighting my stomach bug a little bit. That doesn't help much.
On this travel vlog through Cusco Peru, we take our travel photography workshop group out on a photo walk of the San Blas part of town. We had plans to photograph downtown at the Plaza de Armas, but there is a massive festival going on right now, so it's not the best place to shoot.
And, today was actually a bit of a short vlog because we spent most of the day in the classroom with participants.
But, tomorrow, the travel vlog will be back in full swing as we start to make our way towards Machu Picchu via the beautiful Sacred Valley.
Stay tuned for the last few travel vlogs from here in Peru.
Sacred Valley of The Incas Private Tour (The Hidden Gems) By Peru Summit Adventures
Sacred Valley Of The Incas Private Tours (Pisac, Maras Salt Ponds, Moray, Chinchero, Ollantaytambo) is a relaxed and incomparably beautiful and tucked under the tawny skirts of formidable foothills of the Urubamba range, long the home of attractive colonial towns, isolated weaving villages, the Rio (river) Urubamba, massive Incan agricultural terraces, ancient Incan temples. Explore these hidden places with a private guide at your side. The magnificent Incan archaeological sites found from Pisaq to Ollantaytambo and beyond – some of the finest not only in Peru but also in all of the Americas, are testaments to the region’s immense ceremonial importance. The Incas built several of the empire’s greatest estates, temples, and royal palaces between the sacred centers of Cusco and Machu Picchu positioned like great bookends at the south and north ends of the valley. Through the valley rolls the revered Río Urubamba (called in Quechua Willcamayu by the Incas; today it is also called the Vilcanota in one section), a pivotal religious element of the Incas’ cosmology. The Incas believed not only that the flow of the Urubamba was inexorably tied to the constellations and the mountain peaks, but also that the river was the earthbound counterpart of the Milky Way. With the river as its source, the fertile valley was a major center of agricultural production for the Incas, who grew native Andean crops such as white corn, coca, potatoes, and other fruits and vegetables in expansive fields and along spectacularly terraced mountain slopes. The valley continues to serve as a breadbasket for Cusco, providing grains, potatoes, peaches, avocados, and much more. Join us on this once in lifetime experience!

Hiking to the Lost City of the Incas; Machu Picchu
Hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is one of the best hikes that exist in the world for its exquisite natural beauty and different ecological niches ranging from high desert to tropical Andean forest. During their empire, the Incas created a vast network of roads that crossed the Andes from Argentina to Colombia and from the coast to the Amazon rain forest. The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is a branch which goes from the Andes to the jungle. The Inca Trail is not the only hike that ends at Machu Picchu There are amazing alternative treks like: Salkantay Trek, Lares Trek, Choquequirao Trek and Huchuy Qosqo. Once you are at Machu Picchu you can take the opportunity to hike Huaynapicchu Mountain which has amazing views of the ruins and lots of opportunity to take photos. Whichever path you take, you will have an amazing reward when you first see the Lost City of the Incas; Machu Picchu
Drone PALCOYO MOUNTAIN + RED RIVER OF PERU- Earth From Above 4K
4K cinematic aerial film exploring Palcoyo Mountain and the Red River of Peru by drone, featuring Palcoyo Mountain, Red River, and the surrounding villages as you near the summit of Palcoyo Mountain.
While the main Rainbow Mountain of Peru (Vinicunca) gets flooded with more and more tourists annually, most people sleep on Palcoyo Mountain, the 2nd most infamous rainbow mountain in Peru. A similar distance and hike as the main Vinicunca hike, Palcoyo is otherwordly. Among the incredible red clay and rock in this region of the Andes Mountains, there are multiple mountains at Palcoyo scattered with rainbow colored rock, plus some very cool rock formations, and an other- worldy red river.
Taken while on assignment with Killa Expeditions, an incredible backpacking and trekking company located in Cusco, Peru.
