Welcome to Colombia
I drove to Casanare and Meta two departments that are part of the Llanos This region is known as the Cowboy Land of Colombia where you find Colombian wildlife. It limits with Venezuela to the east. Its culture focuses on the raising of cattle, that's why its music carries with a wide tradition of harp and cowboy life. In this area you will find unique tourist attractions that are nowhere else in the world, as Caño Cristales, also known as the Rainbow River, habitat of pink dolphins; the Bio-park Los Ocarros, and the Natural National Park El Tuparro. Because of its rugged air, it is largely undiscovered by tourists and is thus one of my favorite places to visit. You can arrive to Llanos Orientales by car thanks to the Vía Llanos or by plane arriving to Villavicencio's or Yopal's airport. If you like horse riding, animals, and have always wanted to live the cowboy life, the Colombian Llanos is the place for you. And don't miss out the Colombia safari! We visited the natural reserve El Encanto de Guanapalo with its Hato Matepalma. We then arrived to Lagos de Manegua and then to the the Finca Hotel Mururito Reserva Natural which is absolutely spectacular!

Colombia‘s Secret National Park: El Cocuy - Cinematic Travel Vlog
Travel movie vlog video (filmed with the all new Sony Alpha 7 III Camera, GoPro Hero 6 and DJI Spark) cinematic style of Colombia with Bucaramanga, Malaga and El Cocuy (National Park) - Sierra Nevada del Cocuy (Boyaca). We tried to hike (trekking) to Laguna Grande but needed to stop because of too much snow, weather conditions and cold air. We went up to 4'500m - but there are many 5'000m. Was an amazing advanture to visit the old colonial village el cocuy . We needed to charter a small plane (Ases Airlines, to get to the village malaga - from there another 3 hours trip by car to el cocuy. Very remote but worth the effort. All to be continued in part 6. So far the best expericences with travelling in colombia. Feels mostly safe and well organized - very friendly and helpful people. Road trip, Privat driver, Plane, Public transportation. Fantastic travel movie with awesome nature pictures and footage of landscapes and cities in colombia - vlog style.

Trip to Colombia: Day 4. August 10, 2018. (Los Nevados National Park)
Day 4 was a trip to Los Nevados National Park, which lies in the coffee-growing region of the central Colombian Andes. It’s known for snow-capped volcanoes, glaciers, lakes and forests. The active volcano Nevado del Ruiz is in the north, which is the volcano we drove to. Farther south are emerald Lake Verde, trout-filled Lake Otún and snowy peaked Nevado del Tolima. The park hosts hummingbirds, eagles, parrots and condors. It’s dotted with lofty wax palms and espeletia plants.

A national park is a park in use for conservation purposes. Often it is a reserve of natural, semi-natural, or developed land that a sovereign state declares or owns. Although individual nations designate their own national parks differently, there is a common idea: the conservation of wild nature for posterity and as a symbol of national pride.
An international organization, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and its World Commission on
Protected Areas, has defined National Park as its Category II type of protected areas.
While this type of national park had been proposed previously, the United States established the first public park or pleasuring-ground for the benefit and enjoyment of the people, Yellowstone National Park, in 1872. Although Yellowstone was not officially termed a national park in its establishing law, it was always termed such in practice and is widely held to be the first and oldest national park in the world. Some would say that the first official
national park to be designated as such at its creation was Mackinac Island, legislated in 1875. Australia's Royal
National Park, established in 1879, was the world's third official national park. In 1895 ownership of Mackinac Island was transferred to the State of Michigan as a state park and national park status was consequently lost. As a result Australia's Royal National Park is by some considerations the second oldest national park now in existence.
The largest national park in the world meeting the IUCN definition is the Northeast Greenland National Park, which was established in 1974. According to the IUCN, 6,555 national parks worldwide met its criteria in 2006. IUCN is still discussing the parameters of defining a national park.
National parks are almost always open to visitors. Most national parks provide outdoor recreation and camping opportunities as well as classes designed to educate the public on the importance of conservation and the natural wonders of the land in which the national park is located.
