The Andes - The Most Beautiful Mountains - Mendoza, Argentina - (English - Full HD)
The Andes is the longest continental mountain range in the world. It is a continual range of highlands along the western coast of South America. This range is about 7,000 km (4,300 mi) long, about 200 km (120 mi) to 700 km (430 mi) wide (widest between 18° south and 20° south latitude), and of an average height of about 4,000 m (13,000 ft). The Andes extend from north to south through seven South American countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela.
Along its length, the Andes is split into several ranges, which are separated by intermediate depressions. The Andes is the location of several high plateaux -- some of which host major cities such as Quito, Bogotá, Arequipa, Medellín, Sucre, Mérida, and La Paz. The Altiplano plateau is the world's second-highest plateau following the Tibetan plateau.
The Andes range is the world's highest mountain range outside of Asia. The highest peak, Mount Aconcagua, rises to an elevation of about 6,962 m (22,841 ft) above sea level. The peak of Chimborazo in the Ecuadorean Andes is farther from Earth's center than any other location on Earth's surface, due to the equatorial bulge resulting from Earth's rotation. The world's highest volcanoes are in the Andes, including Ojos del Salado on the Chile-Argentina border which rises to 6,893 m (22,615 ft). Over fifty other Andean volcanoes also rise above 6,000 m (19,685 ft)

Motorcycle riding compilation of our ride from Chile to Argentina as we travel over the Andes mountains! Beautiful days up there on the mountain and the ride gets fun fast when the first bends and twists show up. Start on the Transalp in Viña del Mar Chile and we are heading to Mendoza in Argentina over de Paso de los Libertadores over and through the top of the Andes. How many switchbacks on the Libertadores alone? I've lost count. The Cristo Redentor tunnel through the pass is at 3200m. On the other side we cross the border and we change from Chile route 60 to Argentina route 7. This new road up the Andes mountain pass replaced the old Uspallata pass dirt road which you can still take in the summer. Beautiful mountain touring and the mountains make this motorcycle trip worth it. Plenty of other motorcycles on the road too, especially from Argentina. From the Argentine Andes mountains we ride the last stint down to Mendoza city in the famous Mendoza wine region. The Honda Transalp purrs away nicely on the winding mountains roads though at the highest point I could sense a performance change in the motorcycle on this Andes ride through the across the peaks of South America. The Transalp as a dualsport motorcycle is great since on the way back from Argentina we'll go offroad.

The expedition is on! Max Kausch and the crew get on the road, crossing the border between Brazil and Argentina. Things get off to a very rough start for the team and Max personally.
Thousands of kilometers away from the closest civilization footprint is where the mountain climber Max Kausch feels at home. Riding an adapted motorcycle to approach and climb all the 6000 meters peaks in the Argentinean and Chilean Andes, will he be able to become the first person to do it?
During 2 months on an unbelievable journey, he climbed a different mountain every 5 days, either wearing a kitchen apron, taking dangerous shortcuts, or sewing his own stitches.
Maximo Kausch has overcome robbery, avalanches and bone fractures in search of a world record: to reach the top of all 12 mountains above 6,000m in the Andes with his adapted Mad Max-like motorbike.

Patagonia! A Majestic Unknown Land In South America | Real Wild Documentary
Valdez Peninsula, a wedge of Patagonia that juts out into Argentina's Atlantic seaboard is probably the richest area for wildlife in South America outside the tropics, particularly the marine life of sea lions, fur seals and elephant seals. The region comprises the southern section of the Andes mountains as well as the deserts, glaciers, grasslands east of this southern portion of the Andes. Inside the Peninsula is an arid scrubland, part of the windswept Patagonian Plain that covers most of southern Argentina. It is home to large colonies of up to 100 Patagonian hares or maras which, rare for mammals, pair for life. The peninsula is a stronghold of the elegant guanaco which is unique because it never needs to drink water and survives just on its meagre diet of desert plants. Look for the incredible wildlife yourself!

CROSSING the ANDES MOUNTAINS into ARGENTINA! - ep22
Yo we are on our way to Argentina from Chile over the Andes mountains on the motorcycle! Told you were traveling somewhere. Going to Mendoza and crossing into Argentina in Los Andes. The Uspallata Pass has so many winding roads up the mountain that I lost count halfway. What a treat to ride the motorbike up that massive mountain! On the Argentinian side the Andes look even more stunning and I get that all too familiar desert vibe. On my way to renew my visa and see my friends in Mendoza while they are there. First serious riding since I've arrived in South America and it is absolutely glorious. What a great day and got lucky with the police towards the end. Second country in South America and arrive in warm Mendoza in the evening. Ready for that Argentine life!

Flying over Andes Mountains
This is what it looks like not long after sunrise on a clear day flying from Santiago, Chile to Mendoza, Argentina - a quick hop over the Andes Mountains.
Cycling in Argentina and Chile through the Andes Mountains
I cycled 10 days through the Andes Mountains in Chile and Argentina. I started in Santiago de Chile and rode to Los Andes from there i took the Paso libertadores (Christo redentor) to Uspallata. From Uspallata i took the Old route 52 to Mendoza, which is Ripio (gravel/sand road). From Mendoza i rode to Tunuyan. In Pareditas i took the old route 40 which is Ripio (gravel/sand road). The first night i slept on the crossing where the road goes to Laguna del Diamante. After 2 more days cycling i arrived in Elsosneado. From there i went to Malargue, i stayed on the camping Municipal which was a great place to stay. I met some other (Argentine) Cyclers. The next day we made a daytrip to a castle-shaped mountain called Castillos de Pincheira. Next i cycled to Bardas Blancas. Then went through the paso Pehuenche to Talca. It was very beautifull. From Talca i took a bus to Santiago,.
CHILE to ARGENTINA RIDE (Andes mountains magic)
Ride into the Andes mountains on another visa run from Chile to Argentina and back. Meet Maxi who had been motorcycle touring around Chile and was on his way back to Buenos Aires. He busts out his Mavic Pro drone and we go for a quick ride into Argentina. He sure knows how to fly one and I need to get my hands on one. Paso Libertadores on the Chilean side looks even more impressive from above.
Thank MAXI for the awesome drone footage and check out his work:
