Distance of base village from Pune Railway Station - 70km approx
One can reach the nearest village i.e., Nive by State Transport bus.
From there one can walk on foot to the starting point of the Andharban trail. There are many food and camping options in the Pimpri Village.
The trail length is 13km one way. Pimpri - Hirdi - Bira dam.
At Bira Dam one can get sharing auto to reach to Vele village and from there one can get a State Transport bus for Swargate (Pune)

Andharban Dark Forest Trek | Pune | Mumbai | Maharashtra India Trailer HD 2018
Andharban, as the name suggests, means a dark dense forest. It’s a daylong monsoon trek that begins at Pimpri dam. Throughout the journey, you have to gradually descend down the slope of the forest cover whilst enjoying the spectacular views of the Kundalika Gorge, Tel Baila Fort, Bhira Reservoir and the mountain ranges of Taminighat.
The trek is fairly simple, safe and is divided into two halves. The first six to eight kilometres of the trek is about walking down the juniper green covers of the forest. The second half of the trek further descends down the slopes of the Konkan to reach Bhira. The waterfalls and the cascades on both sides is perhaps the most magnificent sight ever known! If you’re in for an adrenaline rush, go for a white water river rafting in Kundalika.

Devkund waterfall is very near to Pali village in maharashtra un middle of western ghats. Its hidden somewhere in Andharvan (Darkest Forest).
It can be reached from Bhira Village and from the base point you can reach to the waterfall roughly in 1 and half hour. Trek is kind of like nature walk through the most humid forest i have ever seen in my life at start but as soon as you cross the Bhira dam and cross 2 river crossings, the real trek starts. last 20 minutes of the trek is the toughest path where no one should quite trekking and keeps on going because once you reach to the destination, you gonna forget the tiredness since its the best among all waterfall i have seen so far in my life.

Andharban – The Dark Forest Trek Monsoon trek near Mumbai (Lonavla)
Andhar means Darkness and Ban stands for dense jungle, so the word Andharban literally means The Dense Dark Forest.
The intimidating factor of this 13 km long trek has to be the hardcore jungle cover over your head.
The start point of this trek is Pimpri dam begins in bright daylight which keeps on fluctuating as we keep entering the dense part of the forest and out, this only adds up to the magic that this place has to offer.
The trek concludes at yet another dam called the Bhira dam which is also the source of the Kundalika river.
Type : Valley/Dense Jungle Trek.
Range : Mulshi, Pune.
Base Village : Pimpri (Tamhini Ghat).
Grade : Medium.
Height : 2,100 feet Approx (Start point).
Trek Distance : 13KM (Roughly 6-7 hours to complete)

Andharban Trek [अंधार बन] 2018 - Be aware of SNAKES - most difficult part of this trek is river/stream crossing which you need to cross at the end of trek while nearing to Bhira dam. Extreme care needs to be taken during crossing.
Andharban trek is also called as The Dark Forest Trek and one of the most famous trek in Mumbai & Pune region.
Please look the video at the end where Crossing the water stream is shown, this is most critical part of the trek and due care needs to be taken during this crossing, if the water levels are high please do wait for an hour or so till the levels are not down, please do not hurry to cross the steam, use of rope is strongly recommended during this crossing. Take care.

Andharban is a trail through dense jungle, with beautiful views of the Devkund waterfall, Plus Valley and the Tamhini Ghat along the way. Scattered throughout with numerous small streams and waterfalls, it is a descending trek which begins at an elevation of approximately 2,160 feet in the Sahyadri mountains and descends down into the valley, to reach the backwaters of the Bhira Dam. Andharban is mixture of two words, andhar means dark & ban means forest, hence The Dark Forest.The trek is 13 km long.

Andharban, itself means dense dark forest. Andharban is one of the most popular trek in rainy season. Andharban trek starts with descending a Beautiful Valley which takes almost 5 hours to reach ending point of Trek. You can enjoy lots of waterfalls & cascades and awesome view of Kundalika valley, Bhira Dam. The route of Andharban trek is a pleasurable walk through deep forest, crossing Streams, waterfalls. Trekking through dense forest and with number of waterfall on the way will definitely replenish you!!!

Andharban, itself means dense dark forest. Andharban is one of the most beautiful trek in Sahyadris. The best time to visit this place is during monsoon or post monsoon. In this trek, it takes around 4 hours to descend the forest covered with dense forest and shade both sides. En-route enjoy the waterfalls & Dark forest and awesome view of Kundalika valley.

The start point of this trek ie Pimpri dam begins in bright daylight which keeps on fluctuating as we keep entering the dense part of the forest and out, this only adds up to the magic that this place has to offer.
With the onset of monsoons, this trail becomes a denser and greener, with waterfalls all along. Best suited during monsoons and winters, this trek can also be done in summer.
The trek concludes at yet another dam called the Bhira dam which is also the source of the Kundalika river which is famous for its White Water Rafting. 30% of the trek is all descend and remaining is normal walking. While on the route we can see the beauty of places like Ghangad, Tailbaila, Sarasgad, Plus valley, Tamhini ghat, Kundalika valley. If time permits after the trek we will be also visiting the famous ganesh temple at pali.
Situated on the crest of the Western Ghat mountain ranges, Tamhini Ghat is noted for its surroundings comprising scenic waterfalls, lakes and dense woods. The best time to visit is August and September.
The Tamhini road ghat cuts the Sahyadri range to join Mulshi to Tamhini and makes the route in Konkan from Pune. This ghat stretches almost 15 km. The road is not very good, with a lot of potholed sections. The entire stretch becomes a popular destination during the monsoons. During the rainy season, the place transforms into a green bed with lots of waterfalls and small streams. There are state buses which ply through the ghat connecting Pune city with places on the Goa highway (NH17).
Tamhini Ghat can be accessed from Mumbai via the Mumbai-Goa Highway by reaching Kolad and after crossing the bridge over Kundalika River, take the left turn that leads to Pune via the Mulshi Dam backwaters. Tamhini Ghat is the stretch between Kolad and these backwaters. It contains different kinds of green velvety carpets, gushing streams, dark grey clouds stooping low, and the occasional waterfalls. These impromptu waterfalls attract tourists from far and wide.
From the Tamhini Ghat, the road that leads to the Mulshi Dam backwaters which goes to the waterfall at Palse. This particular waterfall is nowadays getting crowded. Further ahead is Kolad which is now becoming immensely popular for river rafting that you can do on the river Kundalika
