Thrift Wood/Ockwells Park Update
We've have some amazing parks in Maidenhead. We think its very important that we continue to invest in our park to ensure we keep them looking lovely and accessible to everyone, as well as looking at opportunities to great new parks.
Here's a short video from Cllr Ross McWilliams discussing the beautiful new 86-acre Thriftwood Park in Cox Green. A great examples of Conservativesin RBWM promoting and investing in our beautiful environment.
Cox Green ward councillor, Ross McWilliams said:
The sun is out! Hurrah! - I took the opportunity in the sunny weather to head down to the wonderful new 86-acre Thirft Wood Park, which has massively expanded Ockwells Park.
Full of beautiful walks, streams and literally buzzing with wildflife, the new park is an exciting addition to Cox Green and credit to RBWM, which has invested in new benches, bridges, fences and footpaths to make the site accessible to all, with promises of more investment too!
There is a masterplan being worked on that sets out further improvements and investments to our new park over the next few years, including more parking, play equipment, expansion of the stream and encouraging new wildlife, as well as new events such as the planned Youth Park Run. The plan is being worked up with key stakeholders, including Wild Maidenhead Events and Andrea's Cafe and Soft Play.
This is such an exciting project and I hope you have all had the chance to get down and look around the new site. It is beautiful in the sunshine and the the very essence of Spring can be seen all around you with new flowers in bloom, such as the blue bells, and wildlife all around you.
