Anegada The Drowned Island - British Virgin Islands
Even after the hurricane impact of Irma on the territory everything started to bounce back and look beautiful. We were given an amazing tour by Kelly who organizes these trips, and had a blast discovering new places and learning new things. Although the weather was a little unfavourable for flying and filming we still managed to to have a good time. Filmed on Mavic Air

A Trip to Anegada and Cow Wreck Beach ⎜Sailing the British Virgin Islands
This video was taken on our first full day sailing in the BVI's. We took off from Tortola, hit breakfast at the Baths on Virgin Gorda, then sent it for a 3-4 hour sail to Anegada. The quote or most memorable reflection on this day was that my family and friends were a little curious (mabe a little afraid) of where we were going lol. The thing is, you can't see this island. It's so short that you won't notice it until you're about 45 minutes away. It's a great place to start a trip. After that, the whole crew was ready to sail each day.

Main article: Hurricane Irma
The NHC began monitoring a tropical wave over western Africa on August 26.[109] The disturbance entered the Atlantic late the next day,[110] gradually organizing into Tropical Storm Irma west of Cabo Verde around 15:00 UTC on August 30.[111] Early on August 31, Irma underwent a remarkable period of rapid intensification, with winds increasing from 70 mph (110 km/h) – a high-end tropical storm – to 115 mph (185 km/h), a major hurricane, in a mere 12 hours.[112] An eyewall replacement cycle then took place shortly thereafter, which caused the storm to fluctuate between Category 2 and 3 intensity. [113] Irma resumed intensifying on September 4, and was upgraded into a Category 4 hurricane by 21:00 UTC. At that time, hurricane warnings were issued for the Leeward Islands.
Current storm information
As of 5:00 a.m. AST (09:00 UTC September 5), Hurricane Irma is located within 10 nautical miles of 16.6°N 57.0°W, about 320 miles (515 km) east of the Leeward Islands. Maximum sustained winds are 130 knots (150 mph; 240 km/h), with gusts to 160 knots (185 mph; 295 km/h). The minimum barometric pressure is 937 millibars (hPa; 27.67 inHg). The system is moving west at 12 knots (14 mph; 22 km/h). Hurricane-force winds extend up to 40 nautical miles (45 mi; 75 km) from the center of Irma, and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 120 nautical miles (140 mi; 220 km).

Serenity Enroute To Anegada in British Virgin Islands
Beneteau 51.5 sailboat from the Moorings in Road Town, Tortola, BVI enroute from North Sound Virgin Gorda to the island of Anegada on 5/27/09, Video by CaptainMurph aboard KUDU - A Sunsail Lagoon 410.
British Virgin Islands Sailing - Anegada Lobster and Limbo March 2019
In this 5th video of our British Virgin Island Charter series we set sail from Leverick Bay in the North Sound of Virgin Gorda. We sail 13 miles north to Anegada. Winds were light so we motor sailed most of the way.
We arrived and made our way through the channel into the anchorage and picked up a mooring ball. We chilled on the boat for the afternoon and then went into town to make dinner reservations for the night. We found Potters By the Sea at the end of the road.
Lauren ran into Sam who she beat in the limbo competition back in 2015 when we were here on a previous trip. He was up for a rematch.
We found a small grocery store and bought some water and a few items. Anegada looked like it was spared the worst of the hurricane damage compared to Tortola and the other BVIs.
We had a relaxing afternoon and headed back in for dinner, dancing and limbo of course. See who wins!
Until Next Time

British Virgin Islands Drone Flight: The British Virgin Islands, part of a volcanic archipelago in the Caribbean, is a British overseas territory. Comprising 4 main islands and many smaller ones, its known for its reef-lined beaches and as a yachting destination. The largest island, Tortola, is home to the capital, Road Town, and rainforest-filled Sage Mountain National Park. On Virgin Gorda island is the Baths, a labyrinth of beachside boulders. The British Virgin Islands shelter dive sites like the 19th-century RMS Rhone off of Salt Island, one of the few Caribbean shipwrecks visible to snorkellers. Quiet Jost Van Dyke island, a common charter-boat stop, has a few waterside bars serving the locally famous Painkiller cocktail. It also has 2 notable beaches: tranquil White Bay and Great Harbour, which hosts a lively New Years Eve celebration. The coral-limestone atoll of Anegada, famous for its lobster, is a remote island thats home to a sanctuary for birds like flamingos. [wikipedia // Google]
