El Yunque Rain Forest in Puerto Rico is the only tropical rain forest in the US National Forest system. Ample rainfall (over 200 inches a year in some areas) creates a jungle-like setting – with lush foliage, waterfalls and rivers. Hike along the trails that cover miles of breathtaking terrain. The rain forest is located in the NE corner of Puerto Rico, with the main entrance in Rio Grande, just off Rt 3, on Rt 191.
The Forest contains hundreds of species of trees, orchids, plants and a few animals.

La abundante lluvia (más de 200 pulgadas al año en algunas áreas) crea un entorno parecido a la selva - con follaje exuberante, cascadas y ríos. Camina por los senderos que cubren kilómetros de impresionante terreno. Mount Britton Trail and Tower in El Yunque National Forest, Puerto Rico
Mount Britton is one of the highest points in El Yunque National Forest. Because of it's elevation and the fact that El Yunque is a Rain Forest, you will find most days look like our video. We were in a complete white out because the clouds just roll over the peak. While visibility was minimal up on Mt. Britton, it was still very good at elevations about 1,000 feet lower. For example, Yokahu Tower, which is the other tower in El Yunque, was clear throughout this same day of filming at the Mt. Britton Tower.
Mount Britton Trail ascends quite rapidly, but is a very well cared for trail with concrete pathways. As you get closer to the peak you will hike a short distance on the service road before taking a sharp right and ascending the rest of the way up to Mt. Britton Tower. This tower is the highest tower in El Yunque. If you are lucky enough to catch it on a clear day, the view is breathtaking.
El Yunque National Rainforest Puerto Rico - honeymoon stroll
September 2014 we visited Puerto Rico, American Territory in the Caribbean. It is a beautiful Island just a stones throw away from Cuba and the Dominican Republic.
Here we find ourselves taking a most enjoyable hike down to a lovely waterfall. Sadly neither of us brought along bathing suits, so we just walked for the scenery.
It was actually showering as we drove in. So, about 30min later the water in this mountain river was flowing strong!
Lots of amazing plants! I wish I had filmed for 5 hours!
And this video has a lot of sentimental value for us, I hope you can appreciate the beauty, and maybe you'll be here in El Yunque with your husband or wife in the near future!
Peace and Health

????????El Yunque National Forest Puerto Rico La Coca trail????????
We had to hit up a park while here in Puerto Rico! El Yunque is the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. Forestry department. Aka our National parks service's. This park is beyond beautiful and there's no way to capture it all on film. If you enjoyed the video give it a thumbs up and subscribe for more adventures!
Mt Britton Trail - El Yunque National Forest, Puerto Rico
Constructed of stone, the tower was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. Both tower and mountain are named for botanist Nathaniel Britton who with his wife and colleague, Elizabeth Knight Britton identified a substantial amount of the native and endemic tree and plant species of the Luquillo mountains in the 1920s. On a clear day the tower’s observation deck affords the lucky hiker a panoramic view of the surrounding forest, the Atlantic Ocean, the Caribbean Sea and the southeastern and northeastern coastal plain.
