If You See Square Waves, Get Out of the Water!
There are some waves that you really don’t ever want to encounter when you’re swimming in the ocean. Square waves look like a giant chess board over the ocean. It's pretty awesome but incredibly dangerous.

SUMMARY:
- If you look off the western coast of France, you’ll see the Isle of Rhe. The coolest part about it is what you see just beyond the shore: square waves. This strange wave pattern looks like a giant chess board over the ocean.
- When two different swells coming from opposite directions meet, it’s known as a cross sea. This is what generates these square waves you see near the Isle of Rhe.
- Because these two seas have totally different weather conditions, a unique pattern emerges when they collide. They create a riptide that’s stronger than your average wave - way stronger than what you’ve probably experienced at the beach with regular waves.
- There have been a handful of cases where people got caught in the cross sea, but, thankfully and luckily, they managed to get out safely.
- These square waves have become somewhat famous over time given that there’s really no other place in the world that boasts a cross sea like this one.
- The Boiling Lake on the Island of Dominica is one body of water you’ll definitely want to stay away from. From high heat to strong gas emissions, there are plenty of reasons to stay out of The Boiling Lake.
- You’ll probably want to steer clear of the town of West End on Grand Bahama Island. This deadly beach is known for being one of the most shark-infested beaches in the world.
- While the south and west coasts of Barbados are ideal for swimming and snorkeling, the east and north beaches have incredibly strong tides that can be quite treacherous.
- Condado Beach in Puerto Rico is a desirable destination in the city of San Juan. However, the beach’s mighty waves and powerful current make this a very dangerous place to go swimming.

Beware These Worst Beaches for Shark Attacks!
Shark attacks seem to be on the rise in many parts of the world, therefore, you might want to steer clear of the following known shark-infested waters. Statistically, these are among the most dangerous beaches for deadly shark attacks.
1. Pernambuco, Brazil
The shockingly high attack rate in these waters appears to be due to over-fishing. Without enough food supply, the sharks have begun to sample other forms of fare to satisfy their relentless hunger.
2. Second Beach, South Africa
The beach is popular among shark-seeking tourists and cage divers. Tour operators dump boatloads of bloody chum in the water order to entice the great whites. You definitely don’t want to surf or swim anywhere near these boats and their chum lines.
3. New Smyrna Beach, Florida
More than 238 shark attacks have been documented at Florida’s (surprisingly) popular New Smyrna Beach. In fact, 15% of worldwide shark bites have occurred here. Most of the bites are courtesy of baby bull sharks that favor these waters. To date, none of the recorded attacks here have been fatal.
4. Velzyland Beach, Hawaii
About 41 different shark species that frequent Hawaii’s waters including aggressive specimens like bull sharks and great whites. The last fatal shark attack at this beach occurred in 1994 when a tiger shark attacked a surfer. More recent attacks on surfers have been reported, but none fatal.
5. New South Wales, Australia
This region, which includes famous Bondi Beach, has recorded more than 170 unprovoked shark attacks and more than 50 fatal attacks, and great white shark encounters are more common here than in other parts of the world. Due to the position of the continental shelf, swimmers and surfers are in close proximity of deep waters where these potential predators cruise.
6. Fletcher Cove, California
Fletcher Cove may be picturesque, but it is also the scene of 142 unprovoked shark attacks, including some recent fatalities. Scientists are convinced that the fish-strewn waters in this region are ideal feeding grounds for large predators like the great white.
7. Reunion Island, Indian Ocean
This island has had more than 10 attacks in a recent two-year period, three being fatal. This has prompted island officials to close the beaches to swimmers and surfers. Experts aren’t sure why the sharks are biting people with greater frequency.
8. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Since 2005, there have been more than fifty attacks. In fact, researchers have claimed that South Carolina’s waters are just as dangerous as Florida’s when comparing the swimmer-to-attack ratio. Their waters are attractive to species like tiger sharks and bull sharks.
9. Coffin Bay, Australia
The name says it all. Don’t swim here unless you fancy a meeting with a great white. Recently an abalone diver was attacked and killed by two great white sharks. His body was never recovered.
10. Surf Beach, California
A nineteen-year-old surfer was attacked and killed a few years ago by a great white shark believed to be 18 feet in length. The waters here are home to seals, which attract great whites in large numbers.

Shark Tank Breaks In Mall (real or fake?)
Sharks swimming in the mall or subway? Huge shark tank breaks leaving deadly sharks swimming in a mall lobby! We're gonna need a bigger boat!
There is a reason this image went viral and its not because of people's fear of escalators.
And yes, there is a real phobia of escalators its called Escalaphobia, google it, I can't make this kind of stuff up!
This image hit all of the social media outlets. Like Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter
According to one of the stories accompanying the picture, a giant shark tank at the Scientific Center in Kuwait collapsed, causing panic and chaos among staff and visitors.
Another claimed the collapse occurred flooding the lobby of Kuwaiti shopping mall.
Upon being confronted with such an event occurring at the mall you have to ask yourself...
#1 Is this within the realm of possibility?
#2 What kind of sharks are they?
And
#3 How do I get to the food court and specifically Hot Dog On A Stick?
#1
In my worst nightmares and apparently in China, that is a resounding yes.
At the Shanghai Orient Shopping Center in China a tank holding 33 tons of water and three sharks shattered .
The disaster was caught on video as acrylic glass almost 6 inches thick burst sending the water and deadly shards of glass onto visitors injuring 15 people.
The 3 sharks inside were lemon sharks, and are safe to humans. The poor creatures however did not survive.
#2
In our Kuwaiti shopping center picture the sharks appear to be Great Whites!
There is absolutely no reason for any private citizen or business to own a great white unless you are an Evil Genius bent on taking over the world and have equipped them with lasers on their heads.
Either way it doesn't matter, there are sharks at the bottom of the fricken escalators and I still need to get to Hot dog on a stick!!!
Which leads me to #3
They're called corn dogs where I come from, they are delicious, but who's the perv that designed the uniforms and their method of making lemonade?
So is the image real or a hoax?
Well for starters the Kuwait Scientific Center is real, and has a shark tank, but no, it never collapsed.
The image is actually a hoax combining a number of different images.
The escalator is actually located at the basement of the Toronto Royal Bank Plaza when it was shut down due to flooding in 2012.
The water is really only inches deep which is apparent by how high it is compared to the two men standing off in the corner of the original picture.
This isn't the first time the great white on the left has been used in viral images, here it is again this time swimming in the flooded streets of Puerto Rico after a Hurricane.
The crazy thing is the original image it has been lifted from is viral on its own merit, and get this...
this is real!!!
However, It is such a scary and imposing sight that photographer Thomas P. Peschak has had to write an entire article describing to the exact detail, how he took the picture to in order to prove it's authenticity.

Megalodon (/ˈmɛɡələdɒn/ meg-ə-lə-don; meaning big tooth, from Ancient Greek: μέγας (megas) big, mighty + ὀδόν (odon) (from ὀδούς (odous) tooth),[1] is an extinct species of shark that lived approximately 28 to 1.5 million years ago, during the Cenozoic Era (late Oligocene to early Pleistocene).
The taxonomic assignment of C. megalodon has been debated for nearly a century, and is still under dispute. The two major interpretations are Carcharodon megalodon (under family Lamnidae) or Carcharocles megalodon (under family Otodontidae).[2] Consequently, the scientific name of this species is commonly abbreviated C. megalodon in the literature.
C. megalodon is regarded as one of the largest and most powerful predators in vertebrate history,[3] and likely had a profound impact on the structure of marine communities.[4] Fossil remains suggest that this giant shark reached a maximum length of 14--18 metres (46--59 ft),[3] and also affirm that it had a cosmopolitan distribution.[2] Scientists suggest that C. megalodon looked like a stockier version of the great white shark, Carcharodon carcharias.

Animal X Natural Mystery Unit - el Chupacabra
The blood sucking creature dubbed el Chupacabra has struck again!
According to tradition el Chupacabra, a vampire like creature, first appeared in Puerto Rico in the 1970s, but the Animal X - Natural Mystery Unit has found new information suggesting the first sighting may have been as early as the mid 1950s in mainland USA. Now the nasty critter has made its way through Mexico to the driest place on Earth; the Atacama Desert in Chile...... and this time the creature's victims include humans.
Is el Chupacabra or the 'Goat Sucker' as it's also known, the same creature depicted as Gargoyles on centuries old churches in Europe, or is it really a mutant creature known to NASA, as many people believe.
The Animal X - Natural Mystery Unit goes in search of el Chupacabra's real identity and meets victims, witnesses and scientists who describe a creature 3 - 5 feet tall with a dark gray hairy body, glowing red eyes, sharp protruding teeth and three-fingered claw-like hands.
Daniel and Natalie travel to Chile to investigate local reports of el Chupacabra attacks in Antofagasta and Calama, where the creature is said to have left a trail of dead animal drained of every drop of blood. One woman claims she was attacked outside her home and has the wounds to prove it.
Are Natalie and Daniel about to solve one of cryptozoology's greatest puzzles?
