Annapolis Tidal Station
We own and operate one of few tidal power plants in the world and the only one in North America. Our Annapolis Tidal Power Plant came online in 1984. It has a capacity of 20 megawatts and a daily output of roughly 80-100 megawatt hours, depending on the tides.
The Annapolis Tidal Station currently houses a seasonal interpretive centre that is open to the public. Visitors can learn about the generating station, its history and the power of the Bay of Fundy.
Annapolis Royal Tidal Station -by DronePiX
Aerial video of Annapolis Royal's Tidal Station in Nova Scotia, the only functional tidal station in North America! It produces a full one percent (1%) of 'all the hydro combined' for Nova Scotia, doesn't sound like much but when you see the small size of the station it's quite a feat in all respects!
A beautiful location, the tidal power of the water can be seen every twelve hours here!
