Anne Frank House - Amsterdam
Situated in Prinsengracht 263-267, the Anne Frank House is one of the immortal vestiges of history left to us from World War II and the Holocaust. It is an exhibition of the short life of Anne Frank and the trials and tribulations faced by her and her family during two years of hiding from the German Nazis.
The Anne Frank House is perhaps the most enduring symbol of Jewish persecution in Amsterdam. The back part of the building, which served as the hiding place for the Frank and Van Pels family, as well as Fritz Pfeffer is also called the Secret Annex. It has been converted into a museum chronicling the events of the eight people in hiding, which Anne described in her diary.

Aubrey was a Speech-Language Pathologist, Donnie was graphic designer, but we both had a dream to travel the world and experience cultures. After three years of being married and dreaming about if something like this great adventure would be possible, we decided to quit the rat race and take on the world. We sold everything we had, quit our jobs, and took off! We don't know how long we will get to do this, and we do have a goal of getting jobs in the UK eventually, but we are going to live it to the fullest while we can!

Planning a trip to Amsterdam? Pick up some tips on visiting the Anne Frank House in this travel video. Advice includes leaving yourself plenty of time: There's lots to see and the line to get in is usually long.
Amsterdam has seen a good deal of hardship in its long history. You can learn about those parts of Amsterdam’s history in places like the Anne Frank House, where Anne Frank and her family lived while Nazis occupied the city in World War II. They were able to hide in a secret annex of the building on the Prinsengract canal for over two years before they were betrayed. After Anne’s diary made her story famous, the building she wrote it in was preserved, restored, and made into a museum. Today, the Anne Frank House offers a close look into Anne’s personality and her life during World War II. You can see Anne’s original diary, the rooms she and her family lived in, the pictures Anne decorated the walls with, and more. Set aside plenty of time for your visit to the Anne Frank House; there’s a lot to take in–plus, since it’s one of Amsterdam’s most popular
attractions, there’s always a long line outside.

About the Anne Frank House
The Anne Frank House was established on 3 May 1957 in cooperation with Otto Frank, Anne Frank’s father. We are an independent non-profit organisation that runs a museum in the house where Anne Frank went into hiding and we try to increase awareness of Anne’s life story all over the world, encouraging people to reflect on the dangers of antisemitism, racism, and discrimination, and the importance of freedom, equal rights, and democracy.

AMSTERDAM 24-Hour Visit 2018 | Centraal | Anne Frank | Dam Square
Where's the Amsterdam FOOD???
1-Night stay in Amsterdam - coming from Paris via a 3.5 hour train ride. Short stay meant we had to check off the major areas: Albert Cuyp market, Ruk Museum (iAmsterdam outside), Anne Frank House, Dam Square, and getting lost between the side streets/canals of Amsterdam.
We did check out the Red Light district during the day - Yes, it is safe there!
Beautiful city and wish we planned more time here - there will be another visit!

Here is some advices for everyone who want to visit Amsterdam, the 12th most visited city in the World. This city is known at first thanks to its great festivals on different topics such as children, music, movies, culture, cooking, theatre…
For example, the “Loveland Festival” in Sloterpark or the “Sail Amsterdam” among others. Life is really pleasant in Amsterdam, a lot of canals pass through the city so you got a concentration of bars and restaurants with outdoor terraces when you stroll down wharves. In downtown, a lot of museum like the “Van Gogh Museum”, monuments like “Rembrandt”, spectacle area like “Royal Theatre Carre” and other attractions are waiting for you to introduce you to the Dutch culture. One of the main tourist attractions is the cannabis because Holland is one of rare countries which legalize the purchase and sale of “weed”. Discover the city of many famous people like Van Gogh, Martin Garrix...
