As part of the 1000 engine rally held at Astle Park Chelford Cheshire an evening coach outing is arranged to the Anson Engine Museum, to view the museum and enjoy the engines,hot pot supper and other attractions. A great thank you goes out to Linda,Carol ,Jackie and Alan for all there help behind the counter serving the visitors. Every year at the Anson Engine Museum (Poynton Cheshire) we have a mid summer mingle!!!! This is when people who worked at engine building companies talk about the 'good' old days of British engine manufacturing. People from Mirrlees,Crossleys ,Ruston Hornsby National Oil and Gas and any other companies meet and try to remember peoples names and were they are from!!!

Atkinson Cycle Engine - Anson Engine Museum -
Here you can see the incredible Atkinson Cycle Gas Engine. These engines use the four stroke principle but accomplish this in just one revolution of the crank due to the design of the conecting rod. Watch the strokes carefully and you will see that each of the four are different lengths. This engine uses poppet valves and is one of only two of a kind and the only running example in the world!
You can see this amazing engine at the Anson Engine Museum in Cheshire, well woth a visit!!!!

National Gas engine (1891)at the Anson Engine Museum
Believed to be the worlds oldest running National gas hot tube engine of 1891. Serial No 590 HP not known, the engine can be seen running at the Anson Engine Museum Poynton Cheshire England. The engine is seen running on Tuesday 30 April 2013 watched by the 'Tuesday' volunteers!!
