IN THE HARMONY OF TIME - 时间的和谐
In the harmony of time is a documentary about the love of music that led a young man from a Catholic and Socialist rural family in post-war Italy to perform in the most important theatres in the world, from the Olympia in Paris to the Carnegie Hall in New York.
In 1955, Paolo Gandolfi was 21 years old when he won the World Accordion Trophy in Essen, Germany: that was the start of a long and extraordinary career during which he played for Pope John XXIII and for Robert Kennedy, alongside great artistes including Edith Piaf, Charles Trenet and Luciano Pavarotti. At the end of the Fifties he met the Scalabriniani Missionaries with whom he shared important moments of his life in a spirit of true universal brotherhood, playing for their missions in Canada and Brazil and becoming famous on TV in those countries too.
Driven by his love of music in 1964 he founded the first Chair of accordion music in Italy and devoted his life to teaching the instrument. The story of his professional, human and artistic experience will unfold as we travel to the most significant places in his wonderful and captivating life, reflected in the words of some of his greatest friends such as Richard Galliano, seeking new frontiers for teaching music to young people both inside and outside Academies.
