Christchurch River Avon Punting Opening

Sixteen months after the February earthquake, Punting rides will again be available from the Worcester Street bridge.

Christchurch City Mayor Bob Parker Opening the avon river punting. First he has a crash in true bob style and then officially cuts the ribbon.

While Punting rides at the Antigua Boat Sheds re-commenced at Easter last year and have proven to be as popular as ever with customers, the city branch has spent a year and a half inside the red zone. Now, with the shrinking of the cordon and customer access once again available Punting in the city is ready to go again.

Is great to see more central city attractions reopening.

Punting on the Avon has been one of Christchurch's iconic attractions since 1986. Come aboard a classic punt at the historic Antigua Boatshed Landing and an Edwardian punter will guide you quietly past trailing willows, woodlands and the leafy banks of the Botanic Gardens.

Summer or winter, glide along the peaceful Avon River in Christchurch, wrapped in luxury, as a skilled boatperson propels you through a romantic wonderland. In spring and summer the sunbeams sparkle and ducklings dive; in autumn and winter the river-level view provides magical photographs.

Your punter, dressed in a striped blazer, braces, and wearing the straw hat known as a boater, stands on a platform at the end of the boat and pushes with a pole. You will sit low down, although high seats can be installed for your comfort and convenience. We supply blankets, umbrellas and even hot water bottles, so you feel snug if it gets chilly.

Watch the waters of the Avon ripple by as you sit back on your deep cushioned seat, return the waves from children and picnickers. Relax on velvet cushions and let your troubles melt away.

THE PREDICTION SUGGEST THAT CHRISTCHURCH WILL BE HIT BY A BIG TSUNAMI .

THE MAYOR SAID AS FAR AS HE IS CONCERN NOAH (STEVE CUNARD) CAN BUILD HIS ARK IN HIS OWN BACK YARD. AT HIS OWN HOUSE IN KILMORE STREET WHICH IS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH .

NEIGHBORS WERE SO FORCEFUL AND CAUSED SO MUCH TROUBLE FOR STEVE CUNARD HE HAD TO MOVE HIS ARK (BOAT) TO A NEW LOCATION.

NOW STEVE CUNARD BEING A ACADEMIC INTELLECTUAL INTELLECT DID NOT WANT TO TELL THIS STORY AS HE WANTED TO KEEP A LOW PROFILE.
HE DOESN'T GIVE INTERVIEWS AT ALL TO MEDIA, NEWSPAPERS ETC BUT HIS HANDS WERE FORCED.
IT ENDED UP GOING LOCAL, NATIONAL, AND FINALLY INTERNATIONALLY AROUND THE WORLD NEWS.
HE DID NOT WANT PEOPLE TO THINK HE WASN'T QUITE ALL THERE.

HE IS NOW GETTING READY, FOR THE EXPECTED ANTICIPATED BIG EVENT TO HAPPEN.

STEVE CUNARD JUST WANTED TO MAKE CLEAR .
THAT THE GREAT LIGHT HE SAW WHEN HE DIED DOES NOT MAKE HIM A MARTYR, THE CHOSEN ONE OR A SAINT, ANGEL OR A DISCIPLE OF GOD.
AS MANY PEOPLE BELIEVE HIM TO BE.

BUT ONLY A PERSON WHO IS ABLE TO FORSEE INTO THE FURTURE AFTER THE GREAT CANCER OPERATION HE HAD DONE.

THE DAY HE DIED

THE DAY HE SAW A GREAT WHITE LIGHT

THE DAY OF THE MIRACLE, HE WAS BROUGHT BACK TO LIFE.

THE DAY THAT STEVE CUNARD WAS GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY AND ABILITY TO SEE INTO THE FUTURE.

HE SAW ALOT OF THINGS HAPPENING.BEFORE THEY HAPPENED
INCLUDING THE CHRISTCHURCH EARTHQUAKES .AND THE JAPANESE EARTHQUAKES.
ALSO THIS BIG EVENT, THE TSUNAMI THAT WILL HIT CHRISTCHURCH.

AND MANY OTHER EVENTS THAT ALSO STILL TO HAPPEN .
HE WILL NEVER FORGET.
