Jade was prized for its hardness, durability, musical qualities, and beauty.
The most common color for jadeite is a pale green. However, the most valuable jade is the emerald green imperial jade, a rare translucent to semi-transparent jadeite containing chromium.

董豫贛是北京大學建築研究中心教授，2016年，他為同學老聶在江西德安的鄉下，打造了一座庭園“耳里庭”，山景、水塘、瀑布、大樹、園林自然相融。老聶一家三代人住在這裡，大門從來不鎖，天天都有鄉鄰們來串門。“匯聚了各種傳統藝術的山水庭園，是中國人居住的最高境界。”
Dong Yugan, a professor at Peking University’s Architecture Research Center, designed this Earshot courtyard for his schoolmate Nie in the countryside of De’an, Jiangxi which converges the view of mountains, ponds, waterfalls and trees. Nie lives here with his parents and children. They never lock their doors, and neighbors would often come visit. “A landscape courtyard that contains all modes of traditional art is the highest living state of Chinese”.

拙政園裡的中國畫家 The Chinese Brush Painter in The Humble Administrator’s Garden
畫家陳如冬，9歲開始拿毛筆，23歲舉辦了個人畫展。40多年來他一直生活在蘇州，潛心畫畫。他是吳門畫派的領軍人物。在四大園林之首的拙政園裡，他曾擁有一間畫室，每天繪畫、賞花、觀景的日子，羨煞眾人。但30歲的一場大病，讓他真正體會到中國畫的水墨精神，從此，徹底改變了自己的繪畫方向。
Painter Chen Rudong started painting when he was 9 years old and had his first solo exhibition at 23. For over forty years he has been living in Suzhou and focusing on painting. He is a significant figure in the Wu School of Painting. He once had a studio in The Humble Administrator’s Garden where he painted and enjoyed the views all day long. That’s something many only dream about. But he fell seriously ill in his 30s, and that’s when he began to truly understand the spirit of Chinese brush painting, and ever since his painting became different.

The Shanghai Botanical Garden (Chinese: 上海植物园) is a botanic garden located in the southwestern suburbs of Shanghai, China, (around 12 km southwest of the city centre) in the Xuhui District.
Covering 81.86 hectares, the garden has a renowned penjing garden, as well as collections of magnolias, roses, azaleas, peonies, conifers, maples, osmanthus and bamboo.

A visit to Bangkok should include a walk through the fascinating district of Chinatown. It's one of the best Chinatown's in Asia and is a hive of constant commercial activity and a journey through history. Chinese merchants originally moved to this area in the early 1780's when Bangkok was founded. After generations of living here, the Chinese in Chinatown consider themselves Thai, but you'll find that this part of Thailand remains a unique world of its own. One of the most talked about places in the heart of Chinatown, on Yaowaraj Road is the boutique hotel Shanghai Mansion. Built in 1892, this stunning historic property has operated as a boutique hotel since 2006. Since its inception, the Shanghai Mansion has offered guests a truly unique experience that captures the elegance of 1930's Shanghai. The original architecture has been complimented with a contemporary Chinese design that's the work of architect Julian Coombs. The end result is a collection of romantic oriental rooms, with canopied beds, red leather couches, lanterns and a cool vintage atmosphere. There's a hotel library that offers view over the hotel's inner atrium and lovely water gardens and a Chinese tea room that offers afternoon teas every day. Chinese and other Asian cuisine is on offer and while staying here you should also experience an authentic Chinese massage. From the incredible design that hearkens back to the romance of 1930's Shanghai, a time when great jazz artists were featured in the best clubs in the city to the elegance and intimacy of 1950's underground night clubs in New York, Chicago and Paris. Outside, the colors of Chinatown beckon anyone who loves to explore. You'll finds streets overflowing with gold shops, tea shops, traditional medicine vendors and street food of all flavors. When the sun goes down the journey back through time continues with an evening at the hotels award winning jazz bar Cotton where both international and local jazz musicians can be found. The romance of old Shanghai makes a trip to Bangkok's Chinatown an unforgettable experience.
