Saigon Walk: Pho Duc Chinh St. & Vintage Market, D1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam [4K]
Pho Duc Chinh is another parallel street to Calmette street. We walked from the riverside to the North, until the Ben Thanh bus terminal.
Maybe it is disappointing if you expect something special on this street. However it was interesting enough to us to see local street food and meet friendly people smile and waving at me, astonished by the camera.
Ho Chi Minh Fine Arts Museum is one of the worth-visiting museum in the city, in my opinion. You can imagine the life of Vietnamese people from the old time to present through the paintings and sculptures. The old building itself is beautiful, mixed in both French and Chinese style.
Vintage Market is on the Le Cong Kieu street. Check out the antique items in Asian style such as statues of Buddha or potteries with unique patterns. If you have interest in it, you will have a lot of fun here! (but I must say that I don't know how to distinguish the real ones from the fake ones!)
If you have any questions, be sure to leave a comment. Enjoy!

Saigon Walk: Pham Ngu Lao St., District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam [4K]
Backpackers and travellers from all around the world gather around the Pham Ngu Lao area - for several different reasons.
(If you want to watch this video with useful information from me, click here:
First of all, there are countless numbers of places to crash. Cheap hostels are everywhere, from the main Bui Vien street to the small alleys in that Pham Ngu Lao area. A bed in a dormitory room costs only about US 5$ per night! Private or double rooms are also available and even cheaper than any other places in the city center of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Also, it is easy to make tour reservations to all around Vietnam. You will find lots of tours (mostly similar) in the travel agencies in Pham Ngu Lao street or 'Backpacker's street'. But, check the current price of the tour you want before making the reservation. The meeting point for the tours is often on the same street.
The party street 'Bui Vien' is in the Pham Ngu Lao area. It is the best place to stay the night with people you meet in your hostel! Unlike the other areas in the city, the businesses here are open until sunrise. Drink extremly cheap Vietnamese beers (US 1~2$ for a bottle) as much as you want, enjoy the street food, sitting on the tiny small plastic chairs. You can still have a bowl of Pho (Vietnamese noodle soup) in Phở Quỳnh in the middle of the night.
Taka Plaza is normally a local shopping center, but the one in Pham Ngu Lao is prepared to welcome foreign visitors. I don't recommend the shopping here, but I love the food court! I believe people can enjoy food better in hygienic conditions and an air conditioned place. There are not only Vietnamese, but also other Asian cuisines (Thai, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Indian, etc.) and also Pizza or Pasta.
The September 23rd Park is not large, but a very relaxing place because of its being completely shaded by huge old tropical trees. You will see a lot of both young and old locals hang out with their friends and play games at night. The famous Ben Thanh market is right across the 9/23 park, passing by McDonald's.
If you have any questions, be sure to leave a comment. Enjoy!

Saigon Then and Now: As the center city looked in the 1970's
Saigon Lam Son Square 2017 opens this montage. Metro construction consumes much of the area.
Then the same shot in the early 1970's. The film shows scenes - many of them greatly altered today. The Old Passage Eden is gone, as is the monument honoring South Vietnamese troops, Givrals coffee shop closed at this location. City Hall is still there as is the Continental Hotel. The author/photographer stayed at the ROYAL Hotel in 1970. The final shows show the scene outside the Caravelle Hotel between May 1 and May 10th 1975 after the Communist take - over. Motorbikes then as now are an ubiquitous feature of Saigon life.

Saigon Walk: District 7. Local area in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Check out how a local street in Ho Chi Minh City looks like. This video is filmed in Nguyen Thi Thap str., one of the busiest areas full of local atmosphere in District 7, Saigon, Vietnam.
I walk westwards, crossing some crazily busy streets, seeing local street food stalls and meeting some locals happily waving at me.

SAIGON FOOD TOUR: Eat Your Way Through Ho Chi Minh City in a Vintage Citroen 2CV!
SAIGON STREET FOOD TOUR
We've been on many food and sightseeing tours before, but never like this!
We ate our way through Saigon in a top-down vintage Citroen 2CV with Saigon 2CV-Tour. We had nuoc mia (freshly pressed sugarcane juice), Vietnamese steamed dumplings, bah trang nuong (Vietnamese pizza), banh khot, banh xeo, and che. Everything was fantastic!
It was one of the most fun and unique food tours we've been on so far and a great way to experience Ho Chi Minh City at night.

Saigon Walk: Lotte Mart & Food Court, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam [4K]
Lotte Mart is a nice place to hang out if you live in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It is a supermarket from Korea, but obviously a bit different in Vietnam.
First of all, it is not only a supermarket, but a shopping mall. There are dozens of shops selling clothes, glasses, mobile phone, cosmetics, toys, etc. Also, you can quickly get some food and drinks from the restaurants, cafés, bakeries, and at the food court, or watch the latest movies in Lotte Cinema.
Also you can get Korean stuff in the supermarket (as you expected). Since the supermarket occupies two stories of the building, there is a huge selection of groceries and products (of both Vietnam and Korea), more than in any other supermarket in the city.
Even though the food court here is quite small, i was always satisfied with the food i get from the welcoming people. I love their friendly smile!
