The Beach and ''Another Place'' in Crosby (United Kingdom)
Crosby is a town not faraway from Liverpool, with a beach, the Marine Lake and the Another Place Sculptures.
ANTHONY GORMLEY'S 'ANOTHER PLACE'
A large number of wrought iron figures ranged along the beach at Crosby, near Liverpool, England, help make this a magic and intriguing place.
The Mersey estuary seascape providing the backdrop for the sculptured figures, modeled on the sculpters own body.

100 Metal statues stand on Crosby Beach just north of Liverpool in a town called Crosby. These statues stretch over 3km of the beach in this location, look left and you can see Liverpool, look right and you can see the Irish Sea towards the Isle of Man.
According to Visit Liverpool Website: According to Antony Gormley, Another Place harnesses the ebb and flow of the tide to explore man's relationship with nature. He explains: The seaside is a good place to do this. Here time is tested by tide, architecture by the elements and the prevalence of sky seems to question the earth's substance. In this work human life is tested against planetary time. This sculpture exposes to light and time the nakedness of a particular and peculiar body. It is no hero, no ideal, just the industrially reproduced body of a middle-aged man trying to remain standing and trying to breathe, facing a horizon busy with ships moving materials and manufactured things around the planet.

Another Place is a piece of modern sculpture by Sir Antony Gormley located at Crosby Beach in Merseyside, England.
It consists of 100 cast iron figures facing towards the sea.
The figures are modelled on the artist's own naked body.
The work proved controversial due to the naked statues but has increased tourism to the beach.
After being exhibited at two other locations in space meeting by Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council on 7 March 2007 decided that the sculptures should be permanently installed at the beach.

Antony Gormley's Another Place - Crosby Beach, Merseyside by Open Door Multimedia
Another visit to Antony Gormley's Another Place Installation at Crosby Beach, Merseyside. A slideshow featuring photographs and music by Howard Jackson of Open Door Multimedia on 11/11/12. Another Place is a massive work of art which attracts tens of thousands of visitors every year - for very good reason. It is always changing because the visitors add to it, change it, take part in it - it's wonderful and a not to be missed attraction for any visitor to Merseyside. On this particular visit someone had wrapped some heavy rope round the neck of one of the statues. It created an iconic image of slavery - despite the statues being masculine in form the rope created (for me) the image of a slave lady - and that's OK because it was me doing the looking. We went back a week later and the rope was gone and it was impossible to tell which statue I had been looking at a week earlier. A transient image of a time no one could be proud of. The music is spooky, dischordant, ominous - some people liked it.

Another Place is an art installation on the coast. 100 spectacular cast-iron, life-size figures by Anthony Gormley spread across three metres of the foreshore and stretch almost one kilometre out to sea.
The Another Place figures - each one weighing 650 kilos - are made from casts of the artist's own body standing on the beach, all of them looking out to sea, staring at the horizon in silent expectation.
Having previously been seen in Cuxhaven in Germany, Stavanger in Norway and De Panne in Belgium, 'Another Place' is now a permanent feature in the UK, at Crosby Beach.
Gormley is also the artist of the famous ‘Angel of the North’ sculpture in Gateshead.
According to Antony Gormley, Another Place harnesses the ebb and flow of the tide to explore man's relationship with nature.
