Tanglewood May Contain Nuts - Wild Garden in Cornwall - Gardens
Tanglewood is a place shared equally by humans and wildlife which is why brambles, nettles and thistles etc are not looked on as weeds, but essential habitat and food source for birds, animals, and insects. The grass areas where mowed are left at a 4inch height to provide cover and protection for insects, and in the spring the abundance of baby frogs and toads. The four ponds and bog area provide a haven for wildfowl, aquatic insects and amphibians.
Tanglewood is quiet and secluded and is an enjoyable experience, beginning with a walk through mature woodland, then stepping out into the garden and pond area.
It is a place to visit at different times of the year to experience the seasonal changes.

Places to see in ( Torpoint - UK )
Places to see in ( Torpoint - UK )
Torpoint is a civil parish and town on the Rame Peninsula in southeast Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated opposite the city of Plymouth across the Hamoaze which is the tidal estuary of the River Tamar.
Torpoint is linked to Plymouth (and Devonport) by the Torpoint Ferry. The three vessels that operate the service are chain ferries – that is, they are propelled across the river by pulling themselves on fixed chains which lie across the bed of the river. The journey takes about seven minutes.
It is said that Torpoint's name is derived from Tar Point, a name given because of the initial industry on the west bank of the Hamoaze. However this is actually a nickname given by workers, Torpoint meaning rocky headland. Torpoint is an eighteenth-century planned town. The grid-based design for the town was commissioned by Reginald Pole Carew in the Parish of Antony in 1774. His family continue to have a strong influence in the area, having become the Carew Poles in the twentieth century, and still reside at their family seat, Antony House.
In 1796 Torpoint was the setting for a shooting battle between the crew of a government vessel, the Viper, and a large party of armed liquor smugglers, in which one person was killed and five people seriously wounded. Torpoint has a Non-League football club Torpoint Athletic F.C. who play at The Mill.

Pencarrow House & Gardens
Pencarrow House & Gardens is a still privately owned estate, although open to the public, belonging to the Molesworth-St Aubyns family.
The estate dates from the 18th century when politician Sir John Molesworth, 4th baronet, started construction of Pencarrow in the 1760's, which was an extension on to an older house dating from between the late 17th and early 18th centuries on the same site.
However, the gardens and woods are slightly more recent than Pencarrow House. They were made by the 8th baronet, Sir William Molesworth who was also a politician, between 1831 and 1835. It should not be forgot that Pencarrow Gardens contains an astonishing 700 different species of rhododendron!
Pencarrow, however, has been active for much longer than the 18th century. A Medieval wayside cross was found in the estate in 1870 and can still be seen today. Even older, a well preserved Iron Age hillfort is at the entrance to Pencarrow and is passed on the way in to the estate. The hillfort has views over the beautiful North Cornwall countryside towards St Mabyn, Camelford and beyond.
In more recent times, Pencarrow House & Gardens was used as a filming location in Doc Martin. It was also used as a filming location in the film 'Fisherman's Friends'.
Pencarrow House & Gardens is located just outside Washaway, between Wadebridge and Bodmin in North Cornwall.
