Lough Shore Park Antrim
Situated on the shores of Lough Neagh, the Lough Shore Park in Antrim is a popular destination for visitors and residents at all times of the year. It is an area steeped in history and natural beauty with many attractions and activities to enjoy.
Lough Shore Park Antrim - Watch the Sunrise in 360 Degrees
No better way to start a day than a sunrise with the family, a beach and some historic sites. We hit Lough shore in Newtownabbey, Belfast, and we had all the fun watching the sunrise while being together by the beach.
Lough Shore Park in Antrim has always been a famous destination for the locals as well as the tourists because of the mixture it has between history, greenery, and beach. This park is found on the shores of Lough Neagh and it is an area that allows people to come and enjoy their times all year long by doing different activities and enjoying the scene of nature.
Setting ourselves by the beach and enjoying those waves while the sun is rising was one different experience in this park which we decided to bring in 360 degree shot to deliver the same feeling we have had to those who will be watching it - to let them feel that they are the ones sitting there.
The Lough Shore Park in Antrim is open all the year but because of the changes of the weather, the activities and the life in the place tend to change around the year with every month; in summer there are entertainment activities for the kids and there are those caravans, which will not be available in winter when the weather is cold.
Even though our main goal of visiting the Lough Shore Park was to watch the sunrise, we should never deny that feeding the swans or even walking across the place are also things that one will enjoy doing especially those tourists who will be walking among some old historical buildings situated by the beach.
For those spending their day at the park, don't worry about getting something to drink because there is a licensed coffee shop inside the park which will provide you with drinks and which is open all year long - without differentiating between summer and winter.
Antrim, where the Lough Shore Park is situated, is a small town and civil parish in county Antrim found on the northeast of Northern Ireland, on the banks of the Six Mile Water, half a mile northeast Lough Neagh - exactly where this park is found and where we were lucky enough to watch the sunrise.
You might spend the whole day at the Lough Shore Park in Antrim town, either relaxing by the beach, giving your kids the chance to play around, sitting in a caravan, or just walking around, but that is not a reason not to mention some of the other attractions and landmarks found in Antrim which you could visit any other time if you are staying in town.
From the different attractions of Antrim, there is the Shane's Castle and Antrim Castle ( there is also one of the round towers in Ireland found in Antrim and which is 93 feet high and 50 feet in circumference at the base; this stands on the ground of Steeple where there is also the Witches' Stone which is a famous prehistoric monument ( and there has been some other important sites and landmarks but which has been destroyed over the time.
We could refer to this place as one of our favorites because it suits the whole family by giving every single member something to enjoy doing; kids could feed the swans and ducks, they could play around in the green areas, and they could enjoy the entertainment activities provided during summer days, while on the other hand, the adults could enjoy having a walk around the park, enjoy the relaxing atmosphere by the beach and where they could also enjoy the sunrise and sunset at, and they could even have something to drink in the cafe found in the park and which will also allow them to have something to drink while enjoying the whole set and atmosphere.
For those who are not well informed with Lough Neagh, it is a large freshwater lake found in Northern Ireland and is considered the largest by area in the British Isles. Lough Neagh is important in Northern Ireland because it supplies more than 40% of the Irish water, where its main inflows are the Upper River Bann and River Blackwater, and its main outflow is the Lower River Bann. Having this importance in Northern Ireland makes one eager about spending a day by one of its shores or beaches and enjoying a good day in a park that is situated on it.
We would put this place - Lough Shore Park Antrim - on the list of different things to do in Northern Ireland in order to change the norm and ordinary and head to some destinations which people might know nothing about - to do something different about your vacation.
There are several things to consider doing in county Antrim, such as heading to the Cushendun Caves ( going to the Toome Canal which is also off the Lough Neagh and which is considered a good place for fishing ( or else going to the Dark Hedges in Ballymoney, county Antrim (

Hotel where couple sang F**k the Pope and the IRA at wedding reception defends staff for not stepp
A Belfast hotel where a newlywed couple were filmed singing “F**k the Pope and the IRA” has defended staff for not ‘pulling the plug’ on the sectarian chants.
The Belfast Loughshore Hotel in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim, said they were “not prepared to pull the plug” on the song and “risk it becoming something much worse”.
A video taken on Friday at the hotel showed a bride and groom enter their wedding reception singing the lyrics to the tune of Tina Turner’s ‘Simply the best’ as guests - including children - cheered on.
Stephen Carson, Group Operations Director at the Belfast Loughsore Hotel, said: “The events that took place had absolutely nothing to do with the owners, management or staff of the Belfast Loughshore Hotel.
