NAGANO (Shinshu) - The land where the Japanese soul lives -
Sending a message to the world through the Nagano prefectural song, “Shinano no Kuni”
“Shinano (Shinshu) “is the old name of Nagano prefecture in Japan. Nagano is known as a snowy area where you can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, and many sightseeing spots like beautiful landscapes surrounded by mountains, historical streets, castles, temples, and shrines.
There is a song that describes the many wonderful things in Nagano. This song is called “Shinano no Kuni”. It was created in 1900, and was designated as the Nagano prefectural song in 1968. Most people who live in Nagano can sing this song.
The Shinano Mainichi Shimbun, a local newspaper company based in Nagano Prefecture, made this movie to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the designation of“Shinano No Kuni” as the prefecture song. The people who are shown in this movie are from abroad, but all of them live in Nagano now.
We want to show this song and Nagano Prefecture to people all over the world!
