Japan Trip 2019: Aomori (4K 60FPS)
Chapter 6: The Port Town of Aomori
Aomori is a small port town in the Tohoku region. It is close to the sea, so this makes it a very good place to go shop for fresh fish and other goodies! The city is also known for its big apples called fuji. They create all kinds of products and derivatives from it like ciders and more.
First thing we do in the morning is go eat some fish at Furakawa Fish Market! It contains lots of packed rows of vendors selling local seafood freshly brought in from Aomori Port. Buy tickets to create your own donburi bowl (bowl with rice) with fish of your choice picked freshly from the market! The Augashinsen Fish Market is also next to Furukawa's. I go buy and eat a nice rice cake filled with red bean paste, mmmm!
After that we go to the Hakkodamaru Memorial Ship. It was a ship that connected Aomori with Hakodate, and transported many things like the famous apples. It is now retired because of the new railway system that got introduced later in Japan. The museum inside explains the lives of the people at the time while inside and outside of the ship. We get a nice view of the city from the deck of the ship! There is also a vehicle deck which holds several historical trains of the time.
Nebutta Warasse is a museum about the Nebuta Matsuri, which is a festival held on summer around the beginning of August. Obviously, being in September I could not attend the actual festival, but visiting this museam gives us a good idea of what it is! The floats were amazing and I got to assist a little show while I was there! It recreated the atmosphere of the festival that's for sure!
Sannai Maruyama Archeological Site is the largest and one of the most complete and best preserved Jomon Period (13000-300 BC) villages in Japan. It was very interesting to see the old buildings and learn more about this time period of Japan.
Finally, to end the day we went to the Aomori Museum of Arts. Great art pieces of Chagall's Aleko were displayed in the Aleko Hall. No videos could be taken and photos are just for personal use. I could get shots of the Aomori-Ken statue though, which is a giant dog statue by artist Nara.
Overall, this was a nice city to visit! Next stop: Hakodate. We're entering Hokkaido for real now!

Most Beautiful and Breathtaking Places - Aomori, Japan
Before visiting Hokkaido, it is good to take a trip to Aomori, which is the northern province of Japan (a departure point to Hokkaido). Aomori is covered with many natural wonders, with lakes and forest. Walking in the Oirase forest in Towada is truly refreshing and rewarding especially to get a look and touch of the Oirase Stream. Visit in the month of April with the cherry blossom festifal is awesome. Places in Aomori qualifies to be the Most Beautiful and Breathtaking Places in Japan.

Japan, Honshu island, Aomori Situated at the north end is where you can enjoy the beauty of nature as a means of blue forests. The famous import a lot of snow in winter, it is also a place that boasts Japan's largest apple crop. I had to first walk along the high street in front of the station to departure. Unique-looking building on the left side of the port direction is noticeable. Alphabet 'A' of the 15-storey, designed according to the 'Aomori Prefecture Tourist tube' role has been a landmark of the city. 1 cheungen holding shopping area is located a collection representative specialties and handicrafts of the region. The seafood is abundant in the area surrounded on three sides by the sea. Good luck and taengtaenghan meat of which is a scallop seafood and representatives of Aomori proud of sweetness. Other processed foods with a variety of seafood materials are sold. Japanese foods made from whole apples, apple like a region which accounts for half the production they very often.

Western Coastline of Japan: Fukaura & Oiwa Island - Backcountry Aomori
The west coast of Aomori is famous as the home of Juuniko, the iconic gathering of 12 lakes and home of the wonderfully blue Aoike pond. However, many forget that the western coastline itself has gorgeous rock formations along the entire shoreline.
Near Fukaura Town, there is a small shrine beside the road which marks the entrance to Ooiwa Island. Meaning Big Rock in Japanese, Ooiwa is a small rocky island out in the sea with a narrow path leading to it. Climb through the small tunnel carved into the rock to emerge from the other side! A small flight of stairs later, and you can get a panoramic view of the Sea of Japan and the western coastline. With a few benches arranged in theater seating, this little rock in the sea is the perfect spot to watch a romantic sunset.
Make sure not to miss it the next time you take a trip down to Juuniko or Akita Prefecture!

Aomori Travel Tips, Aomori Travel Tips [Must Watch]
Aomori City (青森) in Aomori Prefecture is the northernmost prefectural capital city on Honshu, Japan's main island.
This port town used to be the main departure point to Hokkaido via ferry; and, although it remains the main port for car ferries, the opening of the Seikan Undersea Railway Tunnel and the advent of cheap flights have reduced ridership and many travelers now bypass the city altogether.
Today Aomori is best known for its spectacular Nebuta Matsuri summer festival.
If you would like to experience a unique and quiet city with a character, Aomori is certainly not to be missed.
It is also the starting point for all the other famous tourist destinations, such as the Gono Line, Towada Lake, etc.

Japan, Part Three — Hachinohe City
Japan is my favorite place on the planet and I recently got to spend a week there as a guest of the Japan National Tourism Organization, and here's what happened. This is our third leg, a visit to the city of Hachinohe. It was a quick visit, but we managed to visit a 242-year old sake brewery, an island where 40,000 black-tailed seagulls breed, and a restaurant to learn about the city's annual Bouillabaisse Festa. I posted some photos and my story over at check it out to learn more!
