Heading back north after exploring the Nichinan Coast, we stopped at Aoshima, an island just south of Miyazaki City. It seems to be the most popular thing when Googling about Miyazaki.
Highlight of the tiny island include, the Devils Washboard and Aoshima Shrine in the jungle.
Overall, a cute little island worth a stop if passing through Miyazaki.

Four days and three nights in Kyushu, this is our 3 day and it is very relaxed, a stroll at the beach, a visit to an Island with a shrine. The stone formation in front of the island is called the Devil’s washboard.Our vacation and travel plan was really enjoyable.

Encompassing 100 km of the coastline in southern Miyazaki Prefecture, the “Nichinan Coast” is a beautiful, expansive quasi-national park. Popular as an uplifting driving course, the colorful flora will remind you of tropical places.
The Beach Ishinami Kaigan faces a tiny island Koojima 幸島サル生息地 where a group of monkeys apparently rinse their food in the ocean and enjoy the food afterward.
Anyway that scenic spot is worth to be visited.
