Life Along the Apalachicola | Gator Whisperer
Author Jim McClellan has captured a glimpse of Apalachicola River culture that few have experienced. He joins WFSU-TV for an EcoAdventure in the swamps off of the river, where much of his book, Life Along the Apalachicola River, takes place. He takes us fishing and scouts a spot for turkey hunting.
While interviewing him at the Iamonia Lake Hunting and Fishing Club, he shared some stories with us. In this one, his father has fun with visitors to the club, who want to know if you can call a gator.

YIKES!!! Alligator Swamp! Wood Lake Recreation Area Apalachicola
We stayed two days at Wood Lake Recreation Area in the Apalachicola National Forest in Florida. It was nice. We will have to go back.
After years of working 60 to 70 hours a week and never taking a vacation, Carolyn and I decided to quit our job and begin our full time RV’ing. We bought a 1970 Starcraft pop-up camper and a fixed it up. We may buy something more substantial later but we are quite excited starting our adventure in this pop-up.

REVIEW Alligator Air Boat Tours Everglades Miami Florida - HD VIDEO
The Everglades are a natural region of tropical wetlands in the southern portion of the U.S. state of Florida, comprising the southern half of a large watershed.
The system begins near Orlando with the Kissimmee River, which discharges into the vast but shallow Lake Okeechobee. Water leaving the lake in the wet season forms a slow-moving river 60 miles wide and over 100 miles long, flowing southward across a limestone shelf to Florida Bay at the southern end of the state.
The Everglades are shaped by water and fire, experiencing frequent flooding in the wet season and drought in the dry season.
Captain Jack's is one of the most reputable and successful tour companies and Alex Belfield from celebrityradio.biz went to find out more from owner Glenn.

The Apalachicola River
The Apalachicola River rises on the Georgia border at the confluence of the Chattahoochee and Flint Rivers. From there it flows south to Apalachicola Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. This part of the river I discovered while hiking at Torreya State Park. Parts of the trail there run along this beautiful river.

Carrabelle Florida beach on the Gulf of Mexico
Road Trip Packing list for renting a beach house in Florida. My family recently visited Carrabelle, Florida to rent a beach house. It was awesome and a fun experience full of adventure, kayaking, fishing, swimming, an airboat ride to see real gators. We had fun in the fun and I would definitely go back. We loved the calm ocean with low waves experience of the sea in this location and we had a lot of fun with the tide going down each morning which created sandbars everywhere. Click through the link for tips on what to pack for staying at a beach house rental on the ocean. You will need food and household supplies, more than if you stayed at a hotel, but the privacy and the experience are totally worth it. I really recommend this as a family vacation.
