Apollo Bay on the Great Ocean Road is one of the best places to teach your children to surf. Surfing lessons are available locally and near the harbour is a sheltered spot known to the locals as Mothers' Beach.

The Apollo Bay Adventures of Surfriders Harry and Grace [Melbourne University Surfriders Club]
An English exchange student and an Australian seasoned surfer head to Apollo Bay for surf camp. Despite their different backgrounds, the two students find sense of discovery and belonging out on the waves. Apollo Bay and, dare I say, the most beautiful place along the Great Ocean Road! It has kept the charm of an old fishing town with beautiful rolling hill and quiet beaches. It has a good range of accommodations and restaurants with a low key vibe.
