East Tennessee Urbex--Abandoned Cabin in the Woods
I actually filmed this about a week ago and I just now got around to posting it. We were given permission to go hiking on a piece of property in order to search for a rather large waterfall hidden in the Cherokee National Forest. This was a very random find.
Later on, we found out the history of this cabin. The cabin is obviously very old and the original property was split between two members of the same family. When both of them passed away, the surviving relatives were left to decide the fate of the cabin. The gentleman who owns the property belongs to this same family. He had stated that the cabin had been abandoned since 2000. He had attempted to renovate it during this time period but ultimately gave up due to his family not being willing enough to help out with the old homeplace. According to a notice from the local electric company, the power evidently was kept on until 2014. The cabin also had a small guest house above it, which was only big enough to hold one bed.
One of these days, we plan to return so that I can make a better video of it without it being so chaotic.
