Sweet Oranges of Arunachal - farmers leave them outside village, pay what you want for them!
The small oranges of Arunachal Pradesh are the sweetest that you will get. And going by the honesty principle, farmers leave mounds of them at the edge of a village. A traveller or resident can pay what they want for them and leave the money right there. But that the rest of India would work in such a simple honest fashion!

EXPLORING ORCHARDS IN DIRANG vlog#5
It was much eye pleasing to witness the fresh organic fruits like orange, kiwi all around the orchards of Dirang. Spreaded with huge acres of land, kiwi and orange grows extensively in dirang. The walk in the morning was super refreshing as the place offers mesmerising landscapes with the picturesque locations every sides of angle making it possible to capture the photographs from any side of locations. It was moreover mouthwatering to have lunch in samjhana hotel which was really outstanding. The evening local market at dirang was so much fun and busy where o got to purchase some CHURRGUM which is known as the hardest cheese in the world. The overall experience and love for dirang will always remain fresh in my heart. Hope to visit again soon.

Kro Cheykor Festival Promo
Shergaon village, originally known as Shenthuk or Sherbumtangkhar is tucked deep inside a beautiful valley sculpted by thick forest in West Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh, India. The village lies at the distance of 65 km from the district head quarter, Bomdila.
Being in temperate region Shergaon enjoys all four seasons spring, summer, autumn and winter. A large portion of a village is covered by apple orchards making it “Apple bowl of Arunachal Pradesh”. Traditional conservation methods have ensured rich biodiversity in and around the village.
The village is predominantly inhibited by small himalayan tribe called the sherdukpens. This is the place where the two forms of religion co-exits ,the buddhism and indigenous faith. People loves to preserve their ethnic culture and tradition by celebrating various festivals in form of Lossar, , Prido-chhepchi, Khiksaba, Kro-Cheykor.
Kro-cheykor is one of the major festival of the community. This festival is celeberated in the fourth month of the lunar calender which usually falls in the month of May and June. This is the festival where the whole sherdukpen culture comes alive. The younger generations are trained during this festival to run the affairs of home and village, through the dormitory system.
On the full moon day, early morning hours the scriptures are taken out from the monastery. The young girls and old ladies carry the Buddhist scripture on their back. The procession lead by head monk and village elders cross fields ,rivers and through village. They bless the whole village on their way. They are welcomed and provided with refreshments in many of the resting places.
The best feature of this festival is passionate participation of every individual of the village community from a young boy of 8 year to octogenarian.
Various folk and monastic dance forms, with very distinctive movements and colourful costumes.
The frequent performance war dance by boys whole trough day is one most spectacle.
The water sports before the sun sets, between young and old is indeed enjoyable to watch.
As the prayers are offered and ritualistic farewell at the end of the day is conducted for the deities, the moon is already high in the sky.
welcome one and all and expereince Kro- Cheykor Festival
