In this video we are exploring Amsterdam The Netherlands. It was an extremely cold day in Amsterdam so we didn't get to do or see as much as we would have hoped but we did try to see as many of the best things to see in Amsterdam as we could.
We only had 1 full day in Amsterdam so if you only have limited time there in Amsterdam Holland this is a good start of some things to see in Amsterdam.
We absolutely loved being in Amsterdam in winter, it was definitely one of our favourite cities in all of Europe, even though the temperature was well below 0.

King's Day is when Dutch celebrate the birthday of their King William Alexander. King Alexander was born on 27 April and on that day King's Day celebrations take place. There are many parties, flea markets and, of course, the King himself with his family visit several cities in the Netherlands.
The Dutch Royal family bears the name House of Orange. This literally means the colour of Orange. As a result, it has become a Hollands national colour. On King's Day people wear orange clothes, often even donning orange wigs, hats, goggles, crowns and apply orange make up.

Planning a trip to Amsterdam? Learn what is the best time of year to visit the city in this travel video. Tips include when to catch the famous Holland tulips in bloom.
Amsterdam isn’t known for extreme weather any time of the year, and it’s also never cheap, but some months are still better to visit during than others. Summer in Amsterdam is pleasant and generally mild. The warmest months are July and August, but it rarely gets hotter than 75 degrees Fahrenheit even then, so the heat is nothing to worry about. But those are also the most popular months for tourists, so expect crowds and high prices if you go then. Winter will have fewer crowds and less expensive room rates, but the days will be cold and short, with as few as 8 hours of sunlight during December. Spring, early summer, and fall are ideal times to visit for mild weather and more moderate prices. Early April to mid-May, when the tulips bloom, is especially nice–though you should book your rooms in advance, since this is a popular time to visit the city. But no matter when you go, you won’t be bored–there’s always something to do in Amsterdam.
I flew to Amsterdam and back home the same day for King's Day
The 27th of April it's Kingsday in the Netherlands, and so I decided to take a plane from Milan to Amsterdam and then fly back the same day to celebrate the Kings' birthday there.
