*RARE* Crow INDIAN RESERVATION HOUSE TOUR | THREE FAMILIES in 2-Bedroom House | Crow Agency, Montana
First Nation families gave me house tours on the Crow Indian Reservation in Crow Agency, Montana. This is a rare glimpse into how Native Americans are living.
I feel like Native Americans are out forgotten people, and it shouldn't be this way.
I came to Billings, Montana for a conference. I visited Little Bighorn Canyon on a day trip, and saw on the map that I was right by the Crow Reservation lands.
I became curious how Native American people live there. I spent about a week exploring the sacred lands and making friends.
My goal in making these videos is to show others how life is like on the rez. Poverty in America is real.
Everyone told me I should come back in August for the Crow Fair, the big pow-wow and cultural festival of their people. I hope I can make it there next summer in 2020.
I hope you enjoy watching this vlog of the amazing families who welcomed me into their lives with kindness. People here live humble, but are good and kind. ❤
Special thank you to Ally, who introduced me to these wonderful people.

STREET FOOD on the INDIAN RESERVATION | Downtown Crow Agency, Montana
What is there to do and eat on an Indian Reservation? Today I am in Crow Agency, exploring the Crow Indian Reservation, just south of Billings, Montana. I am walking the downtown of the main town, and exploring what I can find to eat.
I came here to show what there is to experience Crow Reservation. I don't think First Nation people get enough attention, and so that's why I came here to make YouTube videos.
I found street food, food trucks and tents selling burgers, nachos, cheese fries, Mexican tacos, enchiladas, burritos, and even a coffee truck. A big favorite was the $1 ice cream scoops at Ruby's gift shop.
Everyone is welcome here. Come down here and try the food. Meet the locals. Make friends.
I also am hoping to make some Native American friends here, and maybe have a chance to learn more about life on the reservation.
Watch for the next video where I was lucky enough to get house tours -- to see how people really live on the Crow Native American Reservation.

Eating Senior Center Lunch on INDIAN RESERVATION in Crow Agency, Montana
We may know about Native American history, and how poorly they were treated, but what do we know about the modern life on the Indian reservation?
I have already spent a few days learning about life on the Crow Reservation, of the Crow Tribe of Native Americans, in Montana. I decided that one way to get to know the locals might be to visit the local senior center and have lunch with the elders. What did we eat? scrambled eggs, toast and coffee. Every Friday they offer breakfast food at lunch. I was hoping to make some friends. I did.
I met Lewis Walksoverice, who told me some information at the table, and we visited Little Bighorn Battlefield together. Then, he taught me some Native American songs. Suffice to say, I was honored. Watch for the next video where he sings for us.
Love to the Native Americans. We remember you.

NATIVE AMERICAN Teaches Me to SING on INDIAN RESERVATION | Crow Agency, Montana
I came here from Billings, Montana, just 40 minutes away, in a quest to get to know more about the modern Native American culture on the reservation. How are the people living here doing?
I have a lot of respect for how hard it is to sing the Native American songs. Lewis Walksoverice sings with such an amazingly powerful voice. I was lucky to meet him at the Crow Agency Apsaaloke Elders Program senior center lunch.
We instantly became friends and spent the day together, visiting Little Bighorn Battlefield, and he even welcomed me to his house.
We stopped in the campground of the Crow Fair, an annual event that celebrates Crow Native American culture, so that he can showcase and try to teach me some songs.
I hope you enjoy the music, even though listening to me try to sing is laughable. ????
Everyone is welcome to the Crow Indian reservation, no passport needed, obviously. Just drive on in.

NATIVE AMERICAN brings me home on CROW INDIAN RESERVATION in Montana: Life on the Rez
Crow Indian Reservation, just south of Billings, Montana, is where I spent six days exploring the beautiful land and making friends, with my mother Carla.
What is this video about? I want people to see Native Americans, appreciate the music, and see how life is like on the rez. I was in Billings, the closest city, and I asked about the Crow Indian Reservation nearby. People told me there was nothing to see there. Don't go there. So, we decided to check it out for ourselves. Anyone can drive in.
My day starts with buying some fruit in Hardin, the closest town off the Crow Indian Reservation.
I was lucky enough to make friends with Lewis, a Crow Native American singer when my mother and I went to eat lunch at the local senior center.
In a previous video, Lewis gave me a Native American singing lesson. This time, we went to his house, and he kept singing for us. He still stays in my heart, even though I'm not there.
He took me his house today. He doesn't drive. There is a Crow Tribe public transportation, but not to the towns off the reservation. He likes to go to the movies in Sheridan, Wyoming on discount days. And even to Billings to listen to Jazz music on Sunday evenings. So, he will try his luck at hitchhiking, which usually works around here. It seems everyone knows everyone here. I was impressed how well he gets around, but with his infectious charm, you can see why.
I hope I can make it back here for Crow Fair in 2020, where the Crow Native American cultural traditions come alive, with traditional food, campsites, teepees and a big powwow.
We really loved making friends on the Crow Reservation, and I'm thankful for allowing me into your lives. ❤

Apsáalooke: The Crow People - History, Culture & More
This is a video for the The Crow People.. and a little about their History, Culture & Affiliations.
-------------------------------------------------
The Crow People, called the Apsáalooke in the Siouan language, or, variants including the Absaroka, are Indigenous Americans who in historical times, lived in the Yellowstone River valley, which extends from present-day Wyoming. through Montana and into North Sakota, where it joins the Missouri River.
The name of the tribe, Apsáalooke, meaning children of the large-beaked bird” was given to them by the Hidatsa People, a neighbouring Siouan-speaking tribe. French interpreters translated the name as gens du corbeaux (people of the crows”) and they became known in English, as the Crow People. Other tribes also refer to the Apsáalooke People as crow or, raven”, in their own languages.
In the 21st century the Crow People are a federally recognized tribe, known as the Crow Tribe of Montana and have a reservation located in the south central part of the state.

GC Crow Nation Missions Trip 2015
Memories from the 2015 summer GC missions trip to the Crow Nation, a Native American tribe in Montana, in partner with World Servants. My apologies for not annotating one of the days; however, you should be able to tell when the day starts as the first footage of the day comes right after a campfire from the day before. :)
All songs are by Beautiful Revolution, a band whose lead singer is Kenny Pretty on Top, the son of Pastor and Chief Pretty on Top of the Crow Nation. Kenny is the leader of the worship band at his father's church, and he would constantly join us in hosting the Kids Klub at the nearby park or in learning about the culture of the Crow people.
